Americans Land On Jello Beach, Spanish Attack Saskatchewan

Day 1,903, 08:46 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

Not long after officially declaring South Korea as America's natural enemy, American forces have landed on Jello Beach, more formally known as Jeollanam-do. This is still South Korea's only region after their offensive into Taiwanese territory purposely failed yesterday. The reasoning for this was that if South Korea were to take another region the United States would have to take that region to so that South Korea could be wiped and have Taiwain declared as the new natural enemy. During this time, Taiwain would've been able to declare the United States as a natural enemy first and gained the initiative in that war. I apologize for the minor error in my last article. Despite this being the last South Korean territory, it is expected that the American forces will be greeted as liberators. While South Korea will cease to exist for the next few days this move is necessary as it will allow the United States to directly enter the conflict against Taiwan and wipe them from Korea. After the Taiwanese have been defeated these regions will all be returned to South Korea and an operation to liberate the Japanese regions will likely be put in place.

Even though the United States will soon have a foothold on the peninsula it is important to note that Taiwan may still put up a sizable resistance like they did the last time the United States secured a spot on the peninsula. Regardless, Taiwan will still have a rough time fending off a direct assault by the United States and could be knocked off the peninsula by the end of the week if they don't make a couple of key stops. The Taiwanese best bet right now is to try and delay the American advance into Korea by setting up resistance wars at choke points and to set up buffer zones. The fate of the peninsula ultimately relies on whether or not the American forces can hold onto Jello Beach long enough to take another region. This may take a couple of days as the United States will still need to occupy Jello Beach, declare Taiwan as a natural enemy, and successfully launch another offensive. Taiwain may also delay this even further by resistance warring their border regions back to South Korea. By doing this they would be giving up territory, but they would force the United States to spend an extra day with another natural enemy proposal. If the United States were to lost Jello beach through a resistance war during this time, they would be pretty much be knocked back to square one.

If the United States were unable to hold onto Jello Beach, an attack from Japan would also be a possibility. While the United States does not currently hold any territories in Japan there is a possibility that the Japanese may make a deal with the Americans that is similar to the one with Korea. Like Korea, Japan is also experiencing a Taiwanese occupation although not as severe. By allowing the United States to take the region of Kyushu the United States would then share a border with two new South Korean provinces and with one of the Taiwanese held provinces in Japan. By expanding the front in South Korea the Taiwanese will no longer be able to continue their strategy of creating choke points and bottlenecks in which to fight.

In other news Canada lost yet another region yesterday in their ongoing war with Spain. With British Colombia now in Spanish hands the Canadians are down to their last three regions. While Canada was able to stop the Spanish in the first battle of Manitoba they were unable to launch a successful counter attack and have not won a battle since. With another attack by Spain now occupying in Saskatchewan things aren't looking good for Canada who currently trails in that battle.

The Global Defense Report was able to secure statements from representatives of both sides of the conflict. When asked what the long term plan was for a Spanish occupied Canada after the war an official within in the Spanish government stated that Spain's main goal was to help out the United Kingdom which was under attack by Canada. He went on to say that Spain's main concern was just wiping Canada so they could close the war and then withdrawing from the region after securing a peace agreement with the Canadians. On the other hand when Canadian President Rylde was asked whether or not peace with the Spaniards was an option, and provided us with this statement.

“We've already had all the diplomatic negotiations there will be. They wanted 3 maritime provinces for peace. I said no war continues. I explained things to my people and there 100% committed to the war no matter how long or hard it goes.”

Given the nature of these two statements this could make for an interesting situation in Canada if they were to be wiped. It appears that the main point of contention in any post war negotiations is going to be the fate of the maritime provinces. If Spain truly wishes to just end the war and get out of their than this shouldn't be too much of an issue. However, with Spain in the drivers seat they could also attempt to deny Canada the rest of their regions back until they agree to cede the maritime provinces. Given the statement by the Canadian president it appears that the Canadian people are preparing for a prolonged resistance to achieve full liberation as opposed to ceding a few regions to save the mainland provinces. More to come from this story as it develops.
