A Honest Welcome
kivmi
It was today when I logged into the game that I realised some articles aren't completely honest with the new players, I found warm welcomes, but nothing relative to the real gameplay in eRepublik, such as opportunities to participate in governments and sometimes and in some eCountries in Congress, and finally about the way that they fail to win medals in battlefields.
It's hard to understand what people try to do with these welcomes; why not be honest instead?
A new player in this game needs to realise that it's impossible to compete with older players. it's impossible because the game mechanics of eRepublik just don't help a new player. In this article, I'm going to explain why a new player can't win anything and why starting a new account in the game is simply a bad idea.
Let's start with the idea about helping new players get their training ground to level 4. I'm not here to explain the process, there are tons of articles explaining that. I am merely here to explain that this help is just a waste of time. Here is why:
A new player with their training ground at level 4 can earn a maximum of 33,507 strength per year by training every day and receiving the extra 5 points of strength every 5 days, but at the same time the new player can't compete with an older player who just buys packs to retain his experience and stays in the same division forever gaining more strength than a new player could, since these packs help them to participate in the weekly challenges earning more PP who can be exchanged for more strength in a week. Players like albo91 (http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/7505436), for example, are nearly impossible to beat. They sit in lower divisions with incredibly high strength for that division, and so they always win the BHs and the gold for these medals. Players who do this ruin the game.
It's stupid. There's no way that new players can win anything in a battlefield. It's become impossible that a new player can compete with one of these old and established players.
In other hand we have this thing that we call “eRepublik politics” that's nothing more than a group of people who can control everything in their country. A new player cannot, in most circumstances, get a political position as soon they register; they are often told “You need to understand the game better” etc. etc.. However, even when they understand the game well and have been established as a valuable member of their eCountry, it's unlikely that they can be part of this "special group" of politicians because, after all is said and done, people tend to vote for the same candidates over and over, and not allow “new blood” into the political system. It's nothing new, and has been occurring for ages, but it’s not right.
At the end, this game is just dead for new players; it holds no opportunity and no chance to improve, so please stop giving them warm welcomes and start being honest with them instead of wasting time -- not only your time, but their time too.
Aaaseilern,
Congressman eNetherlands
Comments
I don't agree at all with your negative view of the things. in life nothing it is easy and one must strive to try to achieve what we propose. We must aim high to either reach at least halfway
Are you denying the facts about the current game mechanics in eRepublik?
1: DEFINITELY upgrade your first training ground if it's not Q4 yet. It gives you the most profit of all possible investments, even if you totally don't care about strength.
2: The game is about relative strenght. A year from now if everyone has 365*92 = 33580 more strength, you need only 4 times as many hits as someone starting with 100000 strength right now. 3 years from now that's twice as many hits. Sure you're at a disadvantage, but they apparently already played for 3 years.
3: There are divisions in eRepublik, so that you don't have to fight the old players right away. You get put into a division together with other new players...
Still, even in D1 if you just started out ( Players with high strength that are stuck in D1 are only a problem if you really want to get the Battle Hero medal.
4: In eNL everybody can be a CM or government member if they want to (unless they are proven to be unreliable, etc.)
Your point?
Until now I don't find any advantage in your bible. About government we have an inactive player as vCP because he is a good friend of the current CP, yep short answer for an obvious problem in game mechanics and current "special groups" managing ecountries around erepublik
My point? New players are welcome. Even if friends get moved to better positions in a gov, that doesn' mean new players are not welcome.
Also new players can within a year grow enough to become the president themselves... But that's more something for those who are politically interested.
I mainly replied with regards to the military aspect, which I cannot deny is something where new players start at a disadvantage. But it is possible to eventually make up for it.
I started out in this version of eRep with a big disadvantage compared to our top fighters. But in terms of strength I definitely am catching up.
In my opinion, if the social and political part is worth playing this game for a year, then the military part will have caught up, and you will be taken seriously on the battlefield as well...
Dear djirtsdew,
Your miss understanding amaze me, you aren't getting the main point who is the disadvantage of new players with the current game mechanics and the way the political module works around ecountries; you have been playing this game since 2009, it means a new player need to train for around 3 years, 4 months and 6 days to have your current str, also in the time this new player is getting that quantity of str you are going to have the double of str and a little more for future events and the exchange of PP points for special prices. I'm sorry, but for a new player that's boring and that's why this game is losing every day more activity
To the second point, it's well know a new player even if he is active for one year is not capable to win by their own a real important position in future governments when the current groups of people in power are the ones who chose their friends over them, best example our current vCP, I don't know you, but I think for the majority of new players or even old players who participate in politics that's unfair and a fail system to elect people for the job, also it's well know the same people always win in politics
Again I'm speaking in general and not only about eNetherlands, believe me I know more about politics than you, when you press a red button I am discussing for more opportunities
MILITARY
I have not played militarily at all for the first years. I focused on the cool economy stuff we used to have back in the day...
So you cannot take the 2009 as a reference.
But yes, it took me three years to get from a military noob starting out in D4, to get to a decent strength account in D4.
I've considered restarting after they introduced the divisions, and maybe that really would have been the better decision.
POLITICS
I am a CM and have been for months, while I'm explicitly telling my PP to put me at the bottom of our candidate list during CM elections. There really is room for more CMs.
Regarding the CP position, we've had Lord Jale as our CP, after he was in eNL for less than a year. He turned out to be a rotten apple, but hey, at least he shows it's possible.
Spir Tus was CP last month after slightly over a year of playing this game. And he could have been CP sooner if he had had the time.
Willem the Conqueror has been CP 3 times, in less than 2 years of playing this game.
So I don't know what you mean by winning on their own. Of course you join a party and make friends there. And you start doing some small stuff for the ministries, to learn how the government operates...
But if you're going to be invisible for a year, start your own party, and run for CP of course you won't succeed.
ABROAD
If you're going to a huge country, it will be hard to get into the government or into congress. You are one person amongst many other candidates. You will really need to make sure you stand out. So yes, abroad polical success is harder to achieve.
Thanks for saying my two points are valid
The only fair point in this all is the fact that it is progressively harder to mean anything on the battlefield the younger you are. But that is hardly a reason to be negative towards new eDutch citizens. Nor something that is in our power to change.
The point about being unable to get into the community or politics of eNL is utter bullshit. You yourself has been in Congress shortly after you joined this country and many other new players and "new" foreigners did the same all the way to the top of being CP.
I am sorry, but being a congressman in eNL is nothing more than a medal in my profile, there's no political changes and at the end discussion are just unimportant subjects.
Please bring us the list of the last foreigners CP's and players who were part of the eNL government the last six months, I am pretty sure my point "special groups" is really valid.
Cody Caine, Gen. de La Rey, Arcanic, Aries Prime all are "foreigners" CP in recent times, not to mention the favt that half of our active playerbase is foreign (Like Lancer amd the earlier named CPs). Willem, Spir Tus, Kordak all are relatively "new" players who became CP by mending in with the oldies. And that's only speaking about CPs, let alone Congress of the general society. So please even stop trying lol.
For six months they were in the same positions, so tell me where's this opportunity everyone like to talk about? Also they aren't new players Tonie, now tell me why an inactive player as Lancer is your vCP?
Firstly, it's funny you keep mentioning how inactive I am... yet, I am just as active as you. You've written a handful of articles in all your months of being here and you hardly ever get into discussions on the eNL forums unless it involves you getting banned on IRC because you behave like a 5 year old. Secondly, the simple fact that you continue to mention me because Tonie selected me as his vCP makes me believe you are one of those title/glory hunters. You're upset because you wanna get a reward for having done nothing to earn it. Nobody is going to make you MoD, MoF, MoFA, or put you in any other high position until you prove yourself. The fact that you've played this game for two years and have been in eNL for many months now and have not been able to achieve anything is your own doing. Your attitude and way of communicating and your own inactivity is your problem.
And how am I supposed to get a position when the same people are always elected?
I endorsed with 5 NLG like I promised. Don't spend them at once!
Thanks I will keep the money to help new players!
There is much in your article that I would like to discuss, but I'll stick to one sentence:
"A new player cannot, in most circumstances, get a political position as soon they register[.]"
What you say here is pure nonsense. It is not hard at all to show that you are motivated and willing to be active in politics. The politicians in our community are constantly looking for new people who want to join politics because of the simple fact that we are constantly facing inactivity. If you register on the forum, then apply for your party's subforum and write a small "Hi, I'm new", you WILL be welcomed warmly. Look at a player like Voleurs. He just started playing but now already he's writing articles and is very much showing interest in this game and in his community. If he keeps playing like that, he WILL achieve great things and he will have a great career.
When you came to NL, Aaaseilern, many people had issues with you. You joined my party, I welcomed you and placed you on a favourable place in the Congress candidature list. You had ALL possible opportunities to achieve something great in your new country, but your real input was close to zero. You wasted a great opportunity. You did not participate in any debates - which is not difficult or "unfriendly" at all, it's just people discussing ideas - and the only thing you said in our subforum was that we are not democratic enough and that new players had no chance. Aaaseilern, you HAD that chance. You just did not take it.
I will close this comment by saying that I think that this article is written in a miserable and repulsive tone. You are very disrespectful to people who are - month after month - trying to find ways to achieve more activity within the young parts of our community. My great respect goes out to Gwom, who has almost made it his personal mission to address these new players. It is reactions like yours, Aaaseilern, that would be the reason if our community eventually broke down. Show respect.
What opportunity? If you are talking about my job as Advisor in some PM with a contest and a new message who is not honest at all to new citizens, let me tell you that I am not easy to impress.
I am telling the truth, nothing more. You can't deny the fact that the last six months the same people have always been holding important positions in the eNL government. You can't deny the fact that congress discussions are just fluff with no conclusions being made. You told me that, I was active, I read these discussions and at the end of it all, what I found was a lack of cooperation between members and a lack of real democracy with Odan and Fhaemita closing discussions when the result weren't favourable.
If the new citizens don't believe me, then they can check the Government positions by themselves and realise that my points here are valid. I am not here to write fancy words Mattio, I am here to express my opinions. I mean the article to be really respectful, and the only one who has been disrespectful here is you when you try to compare me with someone else. Let me tell you something: in the 6 months that I have been here I didn't find anything what you have wrote.
I'll say two things and then leave it with that. I think it's very clear how things are. Like you sai😛 anyone can check the facts and they are very much invited and encouraged to do so. Also, I see no benefit in having a useless discussion like this one.
My first remark is that if you read closely, you seem to contradict yourself. On the one hand, you say that there is a bunch of people who keep the power to themselves and - like me - use fancy words and act all important and difficult. On the other hand, you speak condescendingly of our political stage: you are "not impressed" by it, suggesting you could do much better. Then, Aaaseilern, go ahea😛 do better.
My second remark:
"n the 6 months that I have been here I didn't find anything what you have wrote."
I'm not sure where you are referring to. If it's the forum:
My forum account has 1,033 posts. Yours has 46, of which most (17) are in the section "Offtopic", seconded by the thread "banned in #eUNL" (16 posts).
If you are talking about media activity:
Apart from the occasional entertaining nonsense I like to publish (it's not a game if you're not having fun), you can read relatively recent opinion articles from me about the dictatorship referenda, an article against political elitism that would interest you I think (www.erepublik.com/en/article/2518188/1/20), opinion articles considering CP candidates, a CP debate (an old Dutch tradition I organised years before you even started playing) and a complete retranslation of our lawbook.
After moving to the Netherlands (roughly 5 months ago), you have published exactly 4 articles.
1. I am speaking in general, this is not a personal attack against you
2. New players and new citizens, not you. I don't need to write or answer every topic on forums or comment here to show activity
" what I found was a lack of cooperation between members and a lack of real democracy with Odan and Fhaemita closing discussions when the result weren't favourable."
Give me one examples, you are just doing ad hominem attacks without any proof or real argument as usual
You are doing the same calling us multies, but I'm going to answer u.
Odan and you closed two threads about a change of two important points in our eConstitution when the majority of our congressmen weren't active, instead giving more time you two decided to close the thread and start the votation again when the votes were different to the final decision
proof?
The current constitution of eNetherlands
so no proof?
As I said the current constitution of eNetherlands is the best proof I can give to this community
you say Fhaemita and me did something. when asked for proof you can't deliver any.....
Please read ⬇️ ↓
Oh cmon, everything is on the forums, I am not going to quote or post screens of every discussion here
a link to the supposed two threads we closed is all i am asking for.
I am not going to discuss in circles Odan, you already know what I am saying is true, as forum moderator you can find these topics
well then i have to come to the conclusion that your story isn't based on truth....
Lol really odan? I really don't want screens and the drama behind that
i'm not asking for screens i'm asking for 2 links. you refuse to give them. so there is only 1 logical conclusion: it's not the truth.
thanks for your kind words Mattio! I would like to point out that we have been trying to improve participation of new players in politics for some time now. And the past few months we saw in almost every government at least one new player. Examples: Le Countess, Secret Live, BaronVanZon & Sulaiman Yussef. In all our guides for new players we encourage them to join the politics...

I am agree with you Kimi
Ofcourse you agree with your multie
I invite the community to send reports to the mods 😂
You admitting to using proxies on irc so. Just because the mods aren't able to catch it doesn't mean he is your multi
Dude you can say whatever you want
Whatever
tomiii go fight with Fhaemita
dude fucking fhaemita we need to burn him
Wow I really been burned with comments like "Dude you can say whatever you want" and "Whatever"
10:22 Idc Fhaemita
10:22 I'm into this drawing pro style
I have better hobbies than being 24/7 answering stupid comments
I use proxies because I'm banned in every fucking channel on irc by bad moderators like Odan and you
Ban evading isn't allowed on rizon and might get you glined. Owners and ops can run their channel however they want if you are banned you are banned evading bans is against the network rules
I am so scared
If it's because of moderators you get banned why did you get banned on #eUNL by multiple other ops who weren't Odan or me?
Racism
kimiyimi and Aaaseilern only been a negative influence on your community, they have been a nuisence (to make a understatement) on irc, on the forum and are constantly negative about eNL and their community also in other national channels.. Honestly I have no clue why both kimiyimi and Aaaseilern are still here, all they do is complain, nag and troll the community.
