A brief retrospective of alliances and events of the past year

Day 3,183, 18:59 Published in Serbia Serbia by Dio Maximus

Before game related things: A big flooding hit Macedonia, so if you have spare money, support or any kind of help you can read up here and provide some via the telephone number in the article by TashaMKD.

There are some events in the history this, somewhat dying game that are only naturally viewed as accompanied by a full orchestra playing a grandiose Beethoven symphony; some events are just seen that way, as a grand accomplishment of previous planning. It is sometimes odd to see the events actually happen, and in the course of one's everyday eRepublik life it truly is quite a monumental moment for some.

Today, many good articles have been written by well known, respected players from different sides; Raul Doru, Don Croata, The Georgian Legion, Lord Doel and it's possible that I've missed someone, if that's the case, sincere apologies.

Good points were made in all of the mentioned articles. Some were a little bit biased, some were not, but everyone was relatively objective in the assesment of the situation. I really can't say anything about the internal organization of Adriatica, it does not concern me at all, but there were a couple of defining moments for this course of events.

As it was already mentioned Don Croata was the ''daddy'' of Adriatica, his idea pretty much. As someone on the other side, at that basic core level, it was a good idea, which evolved into something I honestly doubt he intended at first. The whole National MU, Joint Strikes, mutual assistance is a pretty nice thing on paper, but somewhere along the way someone in Croatia/Greece got greedy after they made him step down due to his old Aurora ties to Bulgaria and Macedonia.

The whole issue about alliance changes, creation of new alliances and changing sides was done under the widely trumpeted and shouted pretext of restoring balance to the game. Which is a nice idea, if done correctly.

However when there is greed involved, it takes a bad turn for the ones who intend to screw over particular country whose name starts with S. We've had literally no qualms that after Don Croata left (who would most likely prefer Bulgaria and Macedonia there over the Greeks) the balance thing would be a pretext for old EDEN powah melancholy. I mean really, look at the Zdlemy's Clopoyaur interview, the man is almost begging Romania to leave Serbia's side.

At the root of all of the balance bullshit that was spewed out over the last year, there was a sole purpose of isolating Serbia and Romania. Mostly Serbia to be frank, as we are the biggest thorn in Croatia's side. We've seen the Sirius episode couple of years back, ended pretty badly as well. This has the potential of ending in that manner.

A while back, i remember when Greece NE'd Bulgaria or Macedonia (can't recall which one to be exact) and in some shout a fight broke out between the Gama masters of Greece and some of the Croats under Zdlemmy.

It was about the ''posibility of balance killed by the Greeks''. You see where this is going. Don't have the exact idea what they had in mind, but obviously it was pretty unrealistic as time has shown.

Second time, the famed group log leaked by the Turkish CP couple of months ago, talks between Adriatica-not yet established Syndicate and Pacifica (only Hungary, Poland and USA as i recall) which was pretty much aimed at creating two big as* alliances with the sole purpose of fighting against Serbia and Asteria.

With the loss of two members, Argentina and Brazil for Asteria, I'm pretty sure that the game balance was not the intention of the Adriatica masterminds who were the main proponents of those talks. Talks failed as some in Pacifica don't really seem to look to them as reliable partners and luckily for us, we have friends there.

Someone mentioned in an article, or a comment today, that the problem was the quick expansion, number of countries in a small ammount of time. It is a good assesment, Albania left after 20 days or something.

Another problem is a rhetoric of some of the most prominent SYND-ADR officials, country presidents and such. Regarding the first case, we have been accused of puppeting Hungary in regards of the situation that former Turkish CP leaked to the public, regarding that ill-concieved Adriatica-Syndicate-Pacifica threesome.

Funnily, i'm pretty sure that that kind of foresight on numerous occasions is the major cause of this situation. We have been talking to everyone pretty much. Bulgaria, Macedonia, Poland, USA, Hungary with all there are good relations and common interests in one way or the other. You don't go ''DROP THIS MPP, INVADE THIS COUNTRY'', instead we chose to cooperate and talk to people from various sides. It's pretty simple. Took everyone as equal, no matter the size.

Sometimes agree, sometimes disagree. Work things out for mutual benefit. This is from my personal opinion where the entire opposite side is lacking completely.

We've also recieved a lot of help from Adriatica, because there are a lot of arrogant bastards threatening pretty much everyone for some ridiculous reasons.

Another pivotal moment was at the start of the resource wars. Greece trying to screw with Macedonia and Serbia and disrupt our training war. There was literally no logical reason for that, just pure spite and asshatery toward Macedonia.

We helped, mutual interests were in danger by a really disgusting third party, and I'm not saying this out of spite toward Greece as a country, but simply because of how it was done. Really ridiculous, and just proves how little foresight some of the Adriatica and Greek leaders had.

Spain is another topic. For instance, they are now let's say pro-Asteria bunch, few months ago Serbia, Romania and Portugal erased them. There was no spite. There was no d++kslapping at their face. We had a fun war, gave their regions back signed a NAP and ended any hostilities. We could have taken their congress, but there was no reason for that. They were not the enemy.

Regarding Argentina, there is not much to say. Many articles were written in the last couple of months, just wanted to briefly examine some of the literally insane accusations we recieved.

''Serbia funded, planned and helped the Macedonian and Bulgarian airstrike''

Only third part of the sentence is true. I mean it's kind of degrading for both Macedonia and Bulgaria, they are not idiots or attack dogs so we tell them where to attack. I knew about the Macedonian airstrike after i saw the vote in their congress. Honestly, really liked it.

Let me tell you why.

Croatian MPP check.
Turkey MPP check.
VyC Arg, FYr dog, Sex on Fire, Panic show, sabotaging during resource wars, tanking like insane and taking battle hero medals for Croatia against us.
All kinds of trolling, unwaranted transgressions to win sympathy of Croatia, Greece and Turkey.

Alright, pretty good deal. Bulgaria and Macedonia wanted their revenge, we wanted to settle the score, awesome deal for both parties in my opinion.

Some said it was a gamble. It proved not to be. Both Bulgaria and Macedonia proved to be valuable and trusty partners, and honestly this is paying off for both Bulgaria and Macedonia, and Asteria as a whole as well.

So lets summarize.

Greece is losing last regions.
Croatia is erased and without congress.
Turkey is erased.
Georgia is erased.
Argentina was erased.
Chile is losing against Peru badly and getting ereased, and their ill concieved move against Serbia via AS was shot down in Montenegro, even though they had the overwhelming superiority in MPP's over Montenegro.
Thailand is out of the alliance.
Albania is out of the alliance.

Asteria is doing pretty good, our allies and friends are doing pretty good, and Bulgaria just became an empire.

only a gif can summarize the situation.

Good luck to our friends and good luck to our enemies as well, I sincerely hope they get their s+++ together so we can have some more good battles.
