Good Evening;
I'm going to break tradition slightly, as I just wrote an article in the Org, to write one here given the necessity of it.
Rusty D has just requested, due to some intelligence that he has that Ireland may be under foreign threat, to close our Training War. Given that we opened the war under these circumstances some six weeks ago, we failed across multiple occasions to pass our Natural Enemy law during this time frame to allow for bonuses while fighting. As luck would have it, with some more recent discussions in Congress, it just passed today. This means we cannot change our Natural Enemy for 7 days.
That being said, we've been discussing our direction of Foreign Affairs long enough.
Last term you impeached a President because you didn't like him, thought he treated you badly, and did not include you. This term I've left a fair amount on your plate and now am being told to make decisions. So I will, and I ask that if this is the type of Erepublik Gameplay you want, you vote wisely.
By show of hands below in Comments, any MP is free to vote. You may choose one of two votes. By my tally, about 60% of our Congress wants to turn our training war into a direct war on Ireland, based on them wiping us not to long ago, needing some action more based around our country, and a general "because we can" feeling. You may vote in one of two ways, and I will use this as the official vote in the laws I begin to propose:
1) Direct War on Ireland
2) Close the TW in Ireland
Given that we opened this training war on good terms, I'm proposing to either continue or end it in the open as a way to show that whichever outcome is the will of the people, and the direction my mandate tells me to go.
I look forward to seeing an actual vote, hopefully.

As President, I would choose now, and would have chosen last month for direct war on Ireland. We've gone far too long without conflict, and need something to focus on. I believe this in the best interest of our nation.

what are the rules on the voting procedure, all you have done is given us the options on what we can vote for.

Depends who the foreign threat is - if it's someone we don't like we can wait and war with the foreigners instead, would be fun to roll across Ireland shooting Argies or something.

Also, how can it take 6 weeks to pass a NE law ffs? Do you have any idea how much that's cost me in TP medal income?
direct your anger towards the last government. I think 3 or 4 were tried and mongress voted it down in protest of the inept cabinet.
I imagine it cost you 10% of whatever you spent. seeing as we had the war open the entire time, we just didn't have the bonus active (not that we needed it)...

You don't have the balls to make a decision yourself.
You get congress to vote a war.. so if/when you screw it up you can blame congress.
This wasn't how it worked when I was CP or any other decent CP for that matter.
You make a plan, you stick to that plan and you ask congress to back you. If they say no they say no. But if they say yes we support you Dish.
You go to war and if you fail, its on you.
