[TUP] jamesw for party president

Day 3,188, 04:01 Published in United Kingdom France by Hell The Great

Ohhi. I'm jamesw, and I'm running for Party President this month. Basically, things seem pretty good right now. We have a TUP President, but more importantly we helped to elect a competent TUP President. However, electoral success, and a growth in our membership does not beset the issues that have not been resolved.

As a party we still have no message. We still have not made progress to push more new members into positions of power. We still have little, if any communication between the Party President and the members.

As such, I basically want to accomplish the following, should I be elected as our Party President this month.

- First and foremost, this month we simply must hold a party conference. Party policy is non existent, and in Congress we have no policy to support or vote for. When selecting a candidate for the Presidential elections, there were no policies we could put into a manifesto; the entire thing was solely down to the responsibility of the candidate. We are the biggest party in the eUK. It is our responsibility to have clear, concise and positive policies to improve the UK

- Secondly, and almost equally as important, we need to encourage more dialogues amongst our membership. Whilst our population continues to fall, there are still new players coming. If we involve them, there's much more chance they'll stay - if we continue to hope they'll catch the eRepublik bug, they'll continue to leave. It is the responsibility of any political party to at the very least, represent their members, how can anyone really claim to achieve this, if they are hardly ever consulted?

- Finally, we need a party president who is going to prepare for things in advance. And by in advance, I don't mind 2 days in advance with a shout in the party feed, or an article that is posted and then reshouted in the party feed. Messages. Messages. Messages. It is naïve to assume people will go out of their way to see what you are doing. You have to scream it from the rooftops, preferably in articles full of bold.

In short, I offer you three realistic proposals; (tl;dr)-

- 1. We will run Conference and ensure all members who want a voice, have a voice in setting party policy that our congress and hopefully our Presidential candidate, will work hard to enact.
- 2. We will, as a party, open up the flow of information from the very top to the very bottom of the party; whatever we are doing, all members will be told. Whenever they can or should help, they will be invited and encouraged to.
- 3. We need to stop skipping from one election to another without properly preparing. Electoral success comes with preparation, we cannot simply rely on being the biggest party to win elections.
