Well folks it looks like we have successfully ended the war with Germany. We have liberated our friends in the Netherlands, and have an agreement to stay there and help them remain intact for the foreseeable future. Most CPs would consider this a successful term, I considered it just the beginning. We're only one week into the term and Canada is still thirsty for war, though Congress seems drunk on power.
What do we do now?
The idea was originally to occupy Germany and enjoy slightly higher weapons bonuses for awhile, but Congress decided not doing its job was much more fun. So instead of doing that we're going to let Germany take back all their territory that your Executive (that's me and the cabinet, for those of you in Congress who don't understand what doing your job means) worked so hard to obtain for Canada. You see friends, our government is more or less broke and we have been relying solely on the largesse of the very few to pay for our fun and our TP medals and those people are tired of paying while an ungrateful Congress quibbles over pennies.
So instead of enjoying bonuses that your Executive worked so hard to get for you, we're going to give all that land back to an enemy that attacked us, so they can enjoy it, because Congress is greedy and filled with defeatist traitors who can't do their jobs. So for the next few days please enjoy your TP medals, because after Germany sees this article I am assuming they will start taking back their regions in quick succession.
Thank you Canada for a fun week, if you want more fun you'll have to convince Congress to do their job.

The idea was to use higher taxes to fund a long-term occupation of Germany unfortunately Congress is short-sighted and can only think of their income so that's not to be.

The two biggest pains in the a** are The Anaconda and Dillan Stone, ofc. I would say the MDP and CPF active Congresscritters are doing what's right, but most of the rest of Congress needs a public flogging.

It's unfortunate to see a war campaign that spanned over two presidential terms (to include Xichael's great prep work) come to an end because Congress did not elect a Speaker who could coordinate the vote on a much needed tax increase.
Granted, that's just one version of events. Another might be that butting heads with Congress doesn't yield great results. Or, that eCanada no longer has a community that can effectively use democratic tools like the forum and the Constitution.
Yup, sometimes the best way to arrive at a Dictatorship is to detour through a failed democracy, eh?

During his term, the president should be politically neutral. The attack against one top5 party is inglorious and pathetic.
I'm not sure where I attacked any one party, I attacked a Congress that's pretty awful.

I don't see why you would give up your victory due to some bickering with the Congress. As much as I hate to admit it, you won this campaign. And you're just giving it up because of hurt feelings? Is this just a matter of personal pride?
