[PoA] Fair Fighters

It was probably around the end of 2012. Day 1689. As always we were hanging out on IRC and talking about everyday life, and switching to erepublik every now and then. Discussing about how many weapons (bazookas) you spent to get the BH medal. Sure back then you could have easily won a BH medal with about 50k damage and saved all of your bazookas for more important battles. Weaklings like me HAD to spend bazookas for a chance at winning a BH. Of course, the stronger guys didn't even need them, in important battles they only needed Q5 tanks - and as #merc was ready and opened for business, they just had to "give link + FF" and voila - weapons in your storage. Now comes the hard part. You had to fight in the given battle, take a screenshot, upload it on some silly tinypic or other platform, and send it back to your supplier. After that you earn his trust. Most people actually did that. Incredible! But of course there were some that would take the weapons and be non the wiser. Free tanks. So as we were talking - erdoni came up with an idea. We make our own force. We supply people that are known and trustworthy. That way we strengthen our friendships - and more importantly we will always have the damage that was needed.

That's how the idea for Fair Fighters was born. The unit was mostly made from Austrians and Slovaks. It was a new friendship after years of fighting. After all we had two of 10 Deer resources in Europe. (And many wanted it) Old players remember that bonuses back then were associated with your country. You couldn't have made companies in holdings across the world. So many people changed citizenship in order to have a better production bonus. We made a region trade with them where we all profited. But thats a story for another day.

So like I said, fighters from Austria, Slovakia (Federation of Chechoslovakia back then) and some other countries - under one flag.


Fighting for countries that needed help, self-supplying and trustworthy. It worked. Hell it was better than earning 10 cc per vote on the voters club. I remember one day I clicked for hours and made an astonishing 1560 cc! That was a big deal back then 😑. Changed topic again - my bad.

I can't help but mention some of the people who were members of Fair Fighters. Erdoni as a leader, Kaileene as a second in command. Dimitru Osraldescu, smrtan (no need to say more), Luis Grindl, Schwrzwolf, me, some youngsters like Ludiacus, the legendary Stileth, gabberattack, The Dentist. Women like Luxia Borgia. Vreath, Lars Ulrich and MANY MANY more. Slovaks were a fierce force back then. Heres an old video for a little glimpse of their power:



Fair Fighters was a good idea, but it wasn't dependable. A few players left the game, countries turned against one another, and along with some changes in the game - it just couldn't work no more. CO came along a few years later and all the ideas for a combined merc unit were lost..

But the history remained! The moments on IRC and Skype, the people that came and left - they will never be forgotten.
