[NoTie4CP] #17 Candles

Day 4,670, 13:34 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by NoTie112

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,

Damn, it has been a long time since we’ve seen a Country Presidential Article, hasn’t it? Let me allow to break that trend. After all, what else is a recently-graduated Political Science student supposed to with his free time? NoTie’s here to continue the success story of the current President that has led our country for three months!

To cut to the chase: The ‘game’ has seen some interesting developments whilst everyone was too busy farming during the Summer Event. Recent changes such as the inability of ‘trains’ (moving regions around to avoid enemy Resistance Wars starting) or the re-introduction of Combat Orders have changed the balance in the game, so to speak. Whereas our alliance Hydra/Asteria has dominated the game after some minor setbacks last year, that is less a matter of course now due to such changes. We therefore ought to remain vigilant in the protection of ourselves and our allies. I’m sure the tons of gold we farmed recently will help in that. 😉

After all, we are in the ideal position to do so. Thanks to the restless work of Governments over the past months and years, we are one of the most stable countries that still see a large amount of growth. With an amount of 10 Training Wars, we have given our citizens ample opportunity to grow both their Gold and Rank Points stash. For the past months, we’ve have had Epic Battles every week in cooperation with Belgium, foreseeing our citizens in their Prestige Points as well so they can flourish in the rest of the week.

As you may remember in the past from me in the ‘Ranking that Matters 2.0’, the amount of Legend Ranks are growing fast and are still doing so. People such as Van Der Kaczy, UserIDHidden and Jordic69 are well on their way to aid Weekstrom in his famed Legend XX status. Friends that have embraced the Dutch flag such as Michahel and EliteGroundForce are joining the ranks as well.

Not much more to do for a Country President, one would say. In a sense that is true. Mostly starting the battles and letting the natural orders of things run its course. Nevertheless, I feel like lately we’ve not done so well in making people – both internally and externally – realize what Governments have been doing and how well our nation is progressing. Some minor hiccups, such as the confusion surrounding Green Berets and the Flying Dutchman midst the Summer Holidays didn’t help either. Luckily, Ryan.Rodney.Reynolds has got that covered since a few weeks!

That’s where I see a role for myself as Country President. Reaffirming what we stand for and what we have been doing over the past couple of months. Internally that means more communication through articles. Only then we can speed up the cogs of progression that we’ve been seeing in our country. Financial developments recently allow for accelerating our growth and sustainability. As Minister of Finances I can tell you that the Dutch State has raked in ample of money recently, which in combination with the implementation of Combat Orders give ourselves new perspectives in cases of need. And let us not forget about Black Friday and its discounts either, that are nearing quick!

Externally that means reaffirming what we stand for and what we realistically can do and what we can expect from our allies in the broader scheme of assuring the defeat of our enemies. Despite all the growth in our country, one should not forget where we came from a few years ago when Weekstrom was perhaps the only (active) Legend player. We should take pride in fighting battles such as ones we’ve had versus Nigeria, Montenegro and Uruguay – even if they don’t result in immediate victory. Meanwhile we are to grow in our ranks everyday. This is the course that the eNetherlands has taken long ago and is to be considered immovable in, whether it is when our friends such as Portugal where completely down or when our allies are completely dominating.
