[MoHA] Interview with our Country President

Day 3,130, 03:29 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Good day fine ladies and gentlemen, and not so gentle men. Today we, the Ministry of Home Affairs, have a special treat for the citizens of the eUK. We managed to secure an interview with your Country President, VoodooMike71. This interview was conducted on Sunday but we were trying to finish the story competition before publishing so we waited a few days. So put on your Sunday hats when reading this - just in case anything has changed. As per usual, questions are in bold while answers are not.

1) Hey Voodoo, congratulations on your victory, what do you hope to achieve this CP term?

Why thank you CC 🙂

There are two things I hope to achieve. The first is early impeachment. But failing that, I hope to revive government in the eyes of the UK population.

There's no doubt that things had got a little stagnant. Nobody wanted to get involved in government, meaning that the same small group ran things month in, month out. It must have been difficult to keep levels of enthusiasm up in those circumstances. At the same time, government was beginning to look like a closed shop - only people in the right gang could have a go.

So I hope that by assembling a government made up of people who don't usually get involved, we can show that government is open to everyone. With a bit of luck we'll also prove that there's a different way of doing things. I want our way to be a little less serious and a little more engaging than what we've been used to.

2) How will the country build itself after an average resource wars event? Has the government prepared for what may come?

What are you asking me for?

I don't know the answer to your question; I don't think anyone can know the answer. Until the admins finish things off and release the new stuff associated with the resource war, it's impossible to know what the overall effect will be.

So, we're preparing for the unknown by watching events very closely and keeping our options open. At the same time, Huey has taken it upon himself to work out all the implications for company owners and advise accordingly. He's done one article so far, and more will come when we have a clearer idea of what's going on.

3) There are a few people in new roles this term, such as Sir Jimmy as our MoFA. Why did you change things up and is it working so far?

I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave some moments ago.

I've already said why I wanted a government made up of people who don't usually take on government roles (which includes me). In my manifestos I also made it clear that mine would be an ESO government. Because, you know, ESO are inherently better at everything than everyone else (especially UKRP) 😉

So nick's vCP and MoD, you're MoHA and Jimmy is MoFA. We've also got some other novices involved learning the ropes, and we're on the lookout for more. In particular I'm delighted to have an apprentice for Huey in MoF.

I think it's working well. It's early days still, and we're learning lots as we go along, but everyone's performed well. A special shout has to go out to Jimmy - he's playing a blinder in MoFA.

4) There are rumours of alliance shake-ups. We understand this may be confidential but will the eUK be a part of this? New allies? Same old allies?

No comment, other than to say that - obviously - we'll always look after our allies. 🙂

5) Congress is notorious for being stupid. Will you try to annoy Congress to make them do stupid things, and is there anything stupid that Congress has already done which you can share with us?

I won't be able to resist trying to annoy Congress, but secretly I'm a big supporter. They can be daft at times, but that's not a bad thing - this is a game after all. I've spent a lot more time in Congress than in government, so it'd be hypocritical of me to turn on them like some past CPs have done. Not everyone agrees, but I believe that when Congress are being good they perform an important role in government. And when they've being daft they play an important role in keeping the country entertained 😉

So I'm disappointed that they haven't done anything stupid yet. They've been spurred on by some excellent changes that Apples has made, so they're being pleasingly diligent. There are a few people in there who I really don't get on with, but even they're behaving themselves (for the time being - I'm sure the knives will come out at some point).

Except Frix, obviously. He's being the same as usual.

6) Will we airstrike eSingapore?

You'd better ask pannonian nomad in PUT ASS that question. Apparently I don't have any say in the matter.

7) Are you enjoying the Euros?

I was, until two minutes before the end of the England game.

Yeah. So far they've been really good. I've got N Ireland vs Poland on while I write this - N Ireland are like the Keystone Cops (NEWSFLASH! Poland have just scored). I've got Poland to win 2-0 in Boaty's prediction league.

Which, I should add, I'm definitely going to win.
