[MoFA] Reports from ambassadors: Politics

Day 1,871, 13:38 Published in Norway Norway by Norwegian Consulate

The second report of this term comprehends political aspects. Let's check what informations the Norwegian ambassadors bring to us.

Poland, by WujekKaczor

In ePolish politics nothing changed. Seats are almost the same like in November. On 29 Dec there is no official candidates yet to CP elections.

Congress division:
Narodowa Demokracja - 30% - 12 congressmen
Polska Partia Patriotyczna - 20% - 8 congressmen
Partia Imperialna - 17% - 7 congressmen
Polska Partia Cywilna - 17% - 7 congressmen
Partia Wolnych Ludzi - 15% - 6 congressmen

Netherlands, by WujekKaczor

There is no Congress in eNetherlands. On 29 Dec there is no official candidates yet to CP elections.

Colombia, by caribo

The Congress elections were a triumph in themselves, considering the multiple fronts Colombia is having, some of them with stronger damage. The party who won the elections was the Colombian Democratic Party, winning by almost 5% against the Social Democratic Alliance, the ruling party in the country. A newly created party, Colombian Progress, take 15% of the votes to claim the 3º spot and 3 congressmen.

The actual Congress division is:

Colombian Democratic Alliance: 7 Congressmen 35%
Social Democratic Alliance: 6 Congressmen 30%
Colombian Progress: 3 Congressmen 15%
National Union of Oportunity: 2 Congressmen 10%
Patriotic Union: 2 Congressmen 10%

The political situation in eColombia is stable, the news there are mostly about the military status and the battles. The actual President have a wide consensus, and she was elected as an aSC in EDEN.

It seems as the main candidates are Alberto Jesus Adrian and Bord0, with the other two candidates having less chances.
One curious point is that 2 of the 4 candidates ( bord0 and Cortapasto) are Argentinian players who have Colombian CS, showing the relevance of the Argentinians there, considering the actual President is Argentinian too.

Argentina, by caribo

The Congress elections were won by UMA, the Party with more users, it was won by a comfortable margin, almost 40% of the votes against 18% of the second party. Because of that, UMA have 16 Congressmen, some of them of smaller parties, who entered in the UMA ballot, that also helped to that performance, the smaller parties who supported that party.

The actual Congress division is:

Argentinian Military Union (UMA): 16 Congressmen 40%
Socialist Block ( BS): 7 Congressmen 17%
Argentinian Progress ( PA): 7 Congressmen 17%
Polemic and Sensual Guerrilla: 6 Congressmen 15%
Argentinian Popular Union: 4 Congressmen 10%

The situation, even being stable, is far from ideal, with some people complaining about the direction of the country. The situation against Chile, where the NE is still open, Chile winning the NE and Argentina recovering via RW, is becoming boring and people dont like to lose in the NEs, but at least they are avoiding what Chile is acknowledging looking, which is deleting Argentina.

There are two candidates for President, rockandrollnene and Cataratas. The first one was already MoD and MoFA, and the second is the actual MoE. From what it seems, the first one have a little advantage and can be considered favourite, but its far from decided, since the second candidate have the support of important parties ( 2 from the top5).

Sweden, by Cmurgh

Sweden was very close (in matter of hours - on 23rd) to go down to 3 regions and thus lose 10 seats in the congress.

The figures were almost like previous months. The two top parties - NG and FBS had close to 2/3 of the whole votes, The other three were exactly the same as the past few month (well maybe a little boost for MFD at the 4th place. but I'd say it was a normal election, with completely expected results)

Total number of seats: 40
Party: seats (vote percentage)
NG (Nationalgardet): 14 (35.😎
FBS (Flashback Sweden): 11 (30.47)
MSAP (Arbetarepartiet MSAP): 6 (13.91)
MFD (Military Feminism Dictatorship): 5 (13.61)
FHD (Folkhemsdemokraterna): 3 (6.21)

For the first time in the last 6 month, a candidate from FBS - the 2nd biggest party of eSweden - wins the presidential election. NG, did not have a candidate!

About presidential elections, there are 3 real contenders at the moment: w3st3rb3rg (NG), Alfons Haschberg (MFD) and Radsoc (MSAP). I expect it to be a close one and I think w3st3rb3rg will have a better chance at winning than his opponents.

Finland, by Cmurgh

The congress election in Finland was also as could have been expected and like the previous months, two top parties holding and a small change at the bottom 3! Although it wouldn't be fair not to mention that it was a very close election for all 5 parties.

Wanhat Parrat: 10 (24.85)
Liberaali Edistyspuolue: 9 (22.7)
Kauppaliitto: 7 (17.34)
Sininen Puolue: 7 (16.44)
Sinivalkoinen Liitto: 5 (13.51)

In Politics, at the moment everything seem to be normal and like it was before. Ruben Lagus which is supported by most of the major parties, and Kendo Yanar from Liberaali Edistyspuolue are the candidates for presidency. I expect Ruben Lagus will have an easy win.

Brazil, by Per Jostein

ODIN took the major number of spots in a balanced election. The new party Thuder was the result of the fusion between PICA and HUMANITAS. Fusions are quite common in Brazil, because there are many parties and Congress elections are restricted to just the greater. ARENA was a suprise due to its weak result. Some opponents said that the party used multies, but of course they are just speculations.

That's how the Congress is now divide😛

O.D.I.N.
24.46% - 10
Partido Militar
20.94% - 8
Thunder
20.55% - 8
ARENA
17.12% - 7
S.P.A.R.TA
16.93% - 7

Brazil intermediated the agreement between Argentina and Chile. The Politics are stable and the actual government did a well-done job.

There was a tension with Colombia. Brazilian CP declare😛 "Colombians are very poorly organized, have a weak government, inexperienced and apparently charging money, came to give a scare in a direct battle, but only. They do not understand that stood on the gibbets with their null diplomacy and lack of dialogue".

The president also created a polemic after giving his opinion about erepublik alliances:
"EDEN: Killed, once again, badly organized, can still cause some damage, small victories, but slowly dying.
TWO: Strong, poorly organized, have good allies inside.
CoT: Stronger, better organized, but very large, are good friends with Brazil (the alliance, in general) and all its members want to bring the best of us".

Two candidates have a chance of winning. They are And-Galo, from Ordem Brasileira (a small party, but supported by Partido Democrata Brasileiro and ODIN) and Alessandro Halas CAT, from Partido Militar (supported by Thunder and PERSONA). Both of them lauched their candidacy and I cannot foresee who will win. They were not president yet. And-Galo presented a solid cabinet, while Alessandro Halas CAT didn't present it yet. eduardoluz and CarolineMT complete the list of candidates.

Ambassador of the week award

caribo was the ambassador of the week! He is always able to detail very well the situation on his assigned countries, knowing deeply about their Politics.

Ambassador of the month award

caribo was also the ambassador of the month! Again well-deserved, I don't have any problem on giving once more this title to caribo. In this month, he took one more country , and did in Colombia the same great work he always do in Argentina. Congratulations!
