[MoFA] Reforms in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Day 2,048, 15:49 Published in Saudi Arabia South Africa by Farbous

Salam alaykum my dear eSaudi fellows,

I decided as the current Minister of Foreign Affairs that the Saudi Ambassador Program will be completely reformed. I explained some reforms a month ago, but then I didn't have the time I thought I had for change them all. Anyway, the embassies will be more professional and active. The goal is that Saudi Arabia gets more citizens who can establish better relations successfully with other countries. In this article, I want to present the reform program.

Ambassador:

To become an ambassador, everyone who's interested has to finish the ambassador school successfully and works for three weeks as an applicant. At the end of your education, you have to pass the ambassador test.
It will be more difficult to become an ambassador, but those citizens who pass the ambassador test, have attributes we definitely need in such a position: reliability, activity and effectiveness.

The ambassadors will have many tasks to accomplish. They will have to fill in a form for a weekly work report. Every month, they have to publish at least two articles about their destination country. At the end of the month, a comprehensive work report has to be published in the ambassador's newspaper.

In return, every ambassador will get a monthly salary. We will check the activity of every single ambassador and send him/her at least 100cc. For every long and well-elaborated article, the ambassadors will get between 25cc and 50cc.

Ambassador School:

In the ambassador school, the applicants will learn everything about what an ambassador has to do and how an ambassador works. The school program consists of seven different units and many more exercises to do. At the end of the school, the applicant has to pass a small test. The applicants will be educated in a group, so that they can swap ideas with the other ambassadors-to-be.

Working as an applicant:

After the ambassador school is passed, the applicants have to work as applicants for three weeks. They are no ambassadors in these three weeks. They have to inform themselves about their destination countries and the current eWorld and they should establish connections to important persons.

In the time as an applicant, they won't get any salary. This time should help the ambassadors-to-be to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. But although there is no salary for the applicants, they have to publish at least three articles about their destination country in the three weeks (that means one a week).

Ambassador Test:

The Ambassador Test consists of a practical and a theoretical part. Also, there are some requirements which have to be done during the time as an applicant:

- three articles about the sooner destination country
- good knowledge about Saudi Arabia's foreign affairs and the sooner destination country
- activity

I will tell the applicants more when they finish the ambassador school.

Why all those reforms?

Until some weeks ago, the ambassadors' work was not very satisfying. Sure, because at the beginning, no ambassador knows what to do exactly. This will be prevented from now on. A better education means a better job means a bigger benefit for Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia will get a much stronger Ministry of Foreign Affairs, what will improve our position in the whole eWorld. Moreover, we can be a pioneer for other countries.

Some modifications will be added later
