Wahey, it's back! Fitting for this, I just saw Fallout Boy at a gig yesterday, so I get to use this song for the article!





Phoenix was formed on the Fourth of December 2009 and lasted until the Dissolution on February 3rd 2011. It was originally founded by fifteen countries, all of which were former PEACE GC members.



Phoenix was an alliance formed by fifteen former PEACE GC nations that decided to work together to counteract the increased influence of EDEN in the aftermath of PEACE's collapse.



This Indonesian article provides some good insight. The first 15 countries to join and sign the Charter and they were;
Brazil
Estonia
Germany
Hungary
Indonesia
Iran
Latvia
Lithuania
Portugal
Russia
Serbia
Slovenia
Turkey
UK
and the United Netherlands.

On the 17th of August, France and Ukraine joined Phoenix. In fall 2010, Ukraine left Phoenix. On the 30th of November, Bulgaria left Phoenix.
Montenegro joined Phoenix on the 3rd December, Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) joined Phoenix on the 5th of December. On the 6th of December 2010, Brazil left Phoenix. Turkey, Serbia and Hungary left Phoenix on the 29th December 2010.
On the 30th of December Estonia,Portugal and Iran left Phoenix. On the 1st of January Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) left Phoenix. On the 10th of January Argentina left Phoenix.
Early February, France left Phoenix with Slovenia shortly following.
On the 24th of February 2011, the United Kingdom left Phoenix. The final standing member.



It was very much a UK project from the get go. It featured a lot of eUKers we know and somewhat love in its leadership.

Now as Keers himself points out here there was a rift forming between Hungary, Brazil and the rest of the alliance. His newspaper is a goldmine really if you have the time to scroll back in it.

I also had a conversation with JamesW on the matter, and in summary he had this to say.
"We joined Phoenix because it was supposed to be Peace-lite. We would cut off the dead weight and focus power by guaranteeing protection to the biggest hitters.
We left because the same issues that killed PEACE affected Phoenix. The alliance was too big, too inefficient, and could never beat EDEN and their mobile troops."
