Day 547, 15:17 Published in USA USA by Harrison Richardson

It seems that I have new competition in my renewed race. The LiB's have decided to shun current Senator Acend in favor of the ever-present Emerick, who is my new opponent. I welcome Emerick to the race and wish him "good luck" and hope for a fun, fair, and clean election.

As sitting United States Deputy Secretary of State, I have had an in-depth look at the rights and wrongs of our country. I was one of two people who primarily set up the war games you all love so much. I have also been working with ATLANTIS allies and, if the time comes, have prepared contingency plans for the President as to how we should proceed. Now, on to my platform.

on ATLANTIS

My personal opinion is that ATLANTIS is a sinking ship and we are in NO WAY the captain of said ship. We do not need to go out with the alliance and we shouldn't. I would prefer to move into a period of isolationism, where we can allow the current political climate to cool and make a proper decision, rather than a rushed one we will regret two weeks later. Due to our massive number of MPP's because of war games, no one would dare invade the USA. If they did, I have full confidence in our ability to repel them with the help of a few strong allies (like Spain, for example). I do advocate, and always have (read my very first article.. I predicted this) advocated, the formation of a third alliance. If ATLANTIS is simply carried over to a new alliance and changes in name only, we will see no progress. We must break up the two-alliance system, at whatever cost.

on Taxes

The PANEC system, or the one in place, works like a charm. Why should we change it? Our military receives excellent funding, which shows in the performance. Take a look at our military pre-budget and pre-war games and then look at the post data. Our cumulative damage has grown at least two-fold. To go back on the current system, when it is clearly working (20% is not inexorably high at all) would be a step backwards when we have made so many steps forward.

on the Military

I'm proud to announce the military is in successful straits again with Gen. Armandez in charge of the Army. One thing I had planned to harp on in this platform article was the terrible organization and poor efficiency of the Army as compared to the Marine Corps and the National Guard. The Guard (and it's subsidiary units) work very well, and our Marines are, in my opinion, the best in the world. I would like to streamline disbursement of weapons and general organization, but as a whole, I wouldn't change much about the military.

With that, I bid you all adieu.
