(FoW) An interview with M.A.M.A.D.O.

Day 5,037, 05:03 Published in South Africa Serbia by Don Croata.

Hello everyone,

Before publishing an interview I just wanted to give my two cents about the recent changes. Game is getting better and better right now, at least if you ask someone who has spent last decade in here. However, the problem with the population number will stay permanent unless Plato engages in promoting the game outside of the current player's pool. I wrote about it in the last article, some parts even predicted the latest changes.

Today's topic isn't an armory, fuel or changes, on the opposite, today's article is about one of the most constant things in the game, Lazokracy and its leader M.A.M.A.D.O.

I was very happy to do this interview with a guy that never said no to anything I asked for, a guy who is always there for his friends and a good person with a huge heart.

1. Hello Mamado, can you introduce yourself? Who is Mamado, what do you do in real life, when did you register on Erepublik?

My name is Murat Kiziltoprak. I live in Istanbul, I work in the Turkish Navy. I think I signed up for the game in 2009 when it first went to V1.

2. You're one of the Lazokracy leaders, probably the main guy in charge of the MU. You're often being seen as a 'father' of the Lazokracy. What is Lazokracy actually?

I am one of the people who were in the formation when the lazocracy was first established. Unfortunately, the players of that period left the game. Only two people remained from the time Lazocracy was founded, Zappa and I. If I am the leader of Lazocracy, my leader is also Zappa 🙂

Lazocracy; It was an organization where we came together against the people who ruled the country and exploited their income during the beta period. The main purpose was to save eTurkey from these people, we did. After that, things went in different directions. We did not regret what we did, we had a lot of fun.

Now Lazocracy is a group of players who love each other and meet each other in real life. eRepublik is no longer a game for us, it is a tool that allows us to communicate with each other.

3. Many things has changed over the years, but it seems that Lazos are one of the rare MU's that kept their name, style, avatar and membership the same. How did you manage it?

We approached the players with their real characters, not with the game characters, and we were successful in this. We are still in contact with many friends who had to quit the game due to the change of life and the passing of years.

4. It's known that Lazos are mostly RL Turks, did you have many enquiries about joining the MU by other nations citizens? Did we ever had foreign members before?

Since our group was first established in eTurkey, all members were Turkish. After a while, we were forced to leave the country due to the game dynamics, and we decided to become an international group. At that time, we were one of the strongest 4-5 groups in the world without an alliance and a country. Due to the success of the organizations, the pleasure of playing with a group, the success we have shown in the wars we have entered, and the respect we have earned against all friend and foe countries, after a while, non-Turkish players started to request to join the group.

It was easier for foreign friends to join than Turks, as the conversations in the group were generally in Turkish. Our door was open to everyone and legendary players, whose names I cannot count one by one, came and passed from Lazocracy. I remember them all with love. If anyone is still in the game, I salute you with respect.

5. Lazokracy is often blamed for PTO-ing South Africa, what do you think about it? How would you respond to those comments?

As a group, we wandered around a lot like vagrants. We conducted operations against every country in the game, and we also helped each country in a war in the same way. Again, the changing game dynamics forced us to reside in one place and we chose South Africa.

We reported this decision to the then South African administration. At that time, Lazocracy was a group that was viewed with suspicion because it did not have an alliance and a country. It is not unfair in this either, because it was not clear what we were going to do. The South African government refused. But when their response was rude and disrespectful without courtesy, we targeted South Africa instead of another country and informed them about it. We worked for 1 year, after each election, we got one more deputy, one more deputy, and finally we got it. Yes, we got it with PTO, but it's been a long time. For years this has been the land of the Lazocracy. It will stay like this from now on...

6. What makes Lazokracy different than other MU's?

The most important is friendship. We did not allow anyone to offend anyone in the group. Of course, there were people who did not like each other and whose ideas did not match. We have always encouraged people to play as they enjoy the game. The more common goals, the less important the differences.

And share. Everything in my account in the game also belongs to all members. We are partners. If there is CC, Gold, Weps, it is for all of us, otherwise it is for none of us. Likewise, in real life, Istanbul is where I live, everyone who has been to Istanbul knows that there is a Lazocracy here, and they help in everything and they did...

7. Lazokracy is more than a MU, it's a MU that runs an entire country. Did you have any issues moving from being a Turkish MU to being administration of the entire country?

As a military group, we ruled eTurkey for a long time in our early years. We had experience in running a country. Therefore, it was not difficult to manage the country. But of course we had difficulties, before, we were fighting for the country we wanted in the war we wanted, according to our minds. When you start to rule the country, you have to choose an alliance and you cannot move comfortably. We had some difficulties in this sense, but with our experience, we got through it.

8. What's Africa's foreign policy? Lazos has been proAsteria side for a long time now. Do you have friends from all the sides?

Foreign policy is learned from Tifonus 🙂 After the Lazocracy settled in South Africa, the wind always threw us to the Asterian side. We didn't have a problem not to cross into the opposing alliance, but as I said, the wind was constantly blowing from the opposite direction.

It's been many years, I may be misremembering, but we are one of the few countries that has not changed sides, along with the current Code - Asteria and the founders of previous genre alliances. Although we are not founding members of these alliances. Maybe one day the wind will blow from the opposite direction 😛

9. What's the future of South Africa and Lazokracy? Are there any ongoing plans? What's the future of the game?

The future of South Africa and Lazocracy is shared. As long as we are in the game, Africa is ours. It's hard to plan, because Plato tells the remaining players to fuck off with their changes.

Let me convey a message to Plato from here. We're here as long as the servers stay up. If you want us to leave, turn off the lights.

10. What would you say about Don Croata? Is he a cu*t as they all say?

We met you too late, but it's not our fault. Why did you come late? We are happy to have you with us and to have known you. I hope one day we will clink our raki glasses together.

I hope you and your family have many beautiful and healthy years...

Yours,
Warbhoy
