[CY] About Bulgaria and NE

Day 1,839, 07:54 Published in Cyprus Cyprus by Alfadi

Once upon a time, there were two countries with strong bonds with each other, being in the same Alliance fighting with each other for the liberation of each other's territories etc

One day, tides have turned...one of those countries went to the other side and started fighting against ones that they once fought along with.

But this didn't stop the two countries keep having strong bonds, against certain countries they would still fight together because the past cannot easily be erased. In some big battles you would see these 2 countries together surprising both sides since they were supposed to be enemies.

In many occasions, the biggest of these 2 countries, would occupy an enemy land but would still PM the smaller country not to Attack them, reminding them the bonds of these 2 countries.

Months have passed and nothing has changed.

But like all fairytales, this doesn't end well either.

Yesterday a NE law was proposed by Bulgaria against Cyprus. This has caught us by surprise since Finway told us this was not going to happen because of a certain NAP they were close to signing.

This law was criticised by many Bulgarians in shouts, comments and articles so Bulgarian government invited us into a chat in mIRC to discuss this NE law of course with the absence of anyone that was against this NE law.

Discussion was not what happened, what happened is blackmail. Bulgaria, a friend, simply requested Earth and Water from Cyprus like a second Persian Empire promising that once their goal succeeds, we'd get these lands back.

So our options from the beggining were

1.Get occupied by Bulgaria with a fight (they said this might mean NE won't pass)
2.Get occupied by Bulgaria without a fight.

I chose option 1 (along with xam xam), simply because Cyprus is honor and i didn't wanna betray my country's people. I would not become a traitor to my countrymen which would now have a new enemy they didn't want to have.

I gave them the following dillema :

"Is it worth betraying an old friend to avenge an enemy? Is it worth gaining a new enemy just because of 10 days joy?"

I guess you can see their answer to my dillema.

Today i don't feel sorry for Cyprus, because even if we lose our lands we never had to betray anyone. I feel sorry for what Bulgaria has become.

Bulgaria is nothing like it used to be, it was a country that inspired people. They respected their enemies and kept good relationships with countries they had to.

Now Bulgaria is to be remembered for failed airstrikes, impeaches, lies, provocations and real life insults against opponents and NE laws without logic
