[Bamber] Country Presidency
bamber
So for those of you who don't know me I am Bamber. I have been a member of the PCP for quite a long time. Every month I see manifesto's being published and only since putting together this one did I really know how annoying it can get, constatly deleting things you then replacing it with something new. So I would just like to add good luck to all the other candidates.
Cabinet
I want to draw a strong cabinet, from a cross party platform, of the most well equipped and experienced players and as such most positions will be decided by applications, but we also must consider younger players who have not been given opportunities to gain experience in the past, so you will be sure to see some fresh faces.
I would like to invite anyone to just drop me a PM in game or on the Forum.
The info I will need are the following
Which ministry would you like to work in?
Why you would be good at that role?
Have you had any past Experience?
If you do not get the role would you be willing to be a deputy?
MU
Having been Captain of the PA MU several times I've noticed that lower ranked members start off well but eventually begin to fight less and less. We need to be sure that they are getting the supplies and help they need but also ensure that we are not giving supplies to those who will lose interest too quickly. It's a tough balancing act but with better communication and co operation between the government and MU heads we can work towards reaching our true military potential.
Minister of Health
A commonly talked about issue that we face in the running of the eUK at the moment is whether the NHS could be improved. I am certain that it can be. While any retention project will inevitably have some wastage, the NHS currently, in my eyes, has far too much to justify. And although the NHS is for the most part accomplishing it's aim of supplying new players with the necessary goods to succeed, it needs to be geared more in favour of retention through better evaluation and reward of enthusiasm and commitment. There will always be a high risk of new players going inactive but by improving their communication links, further integrating them into the community and with in-game incentives for getting involved on the forum and on IRC i believe we could convert a greater percentage of NHS funding in a long term retention gain.
Foreign Affairs
Another important issue facing this month is our position in ONE. Our number one priority should be to strengthen our position in ONE, whilst also keeping are options open. We can't see into the future but we can be ready for what will come. We must remember who our allies are and thank them when they come to defend us. (I will take this time to thank Poland; a great ally to us. Our Polish Comrades deserve the respect we all have for them.)
We should try our best to repair relations with nations that recently have been strained, Our people acknowledge that the UK is not the greatest fighting force in the eWorld but with our allies and when we fight as one under a common goal we do bloody great. I supported leaving ONE during a congress discussion, but in hindsight, I feel that going forward, ONE is our best option, and we will continue to serve under them.
I still feel going forward from here that ONE is the best option we have. And so i'd like for us to continue to serve ONE and our allies to the best of our ability for the foreseeable future. However that being said i believe that we have reached an impasse whereby we can only justify continuing membership in ONE through a referendum of the UK population on the issue.
Articles In game
For me, it is of vital importance that we keep every citizen informed of what is going on. I think previous governments have done this well and I will expect ministers to be producing articles for the public so that we can maintain the flow of information to the people.
Minister of Home Affairs
What I need the most is for someone who has experience and is willing to pass it on eg Create guides for new players offer advice to them and point them in the right direction. I also want to make things more funner and to keep people interested in the game but also for people to stay interested in the UK, How many of you have just got bored and moved because you feel like there nothing for you in the UK? There are many people who have done this.
Ireland
Although it may be demoralising for loyal Scotsman i am sure that they understand that the gains in both bonuses and also avoiding the never ending dullness of a continued war far outweighs the alternative. The Irish have had every opportunity to betray the agreement in their favour and have showed us that we can trust them. I will not dwell on the Irish issue because it is no longer an issue.

Who? Friends have had no reason to mention you, seems that you don't really know any of the cabinet, no names mentioned at all in the entire post, who the heck do you work with?
Just general "vote me" stuff with some on topic, general CP crap.
Hadn't even heard of the party before this newspaper, ah well, i do now at least.
Best of luck to you, but i'd recommend not getting hopes too high for this election, there are some strong candidates.
Gay guy with an avatar featuring someone who practiced mass persecution of gays in Russia.
Go figure.
@
Iain I cant think off any country which does not have a bad record against gays
Maybe you should go a find a diffrent article to take a pick at because I would prefere someone post something about more usefull than bring my sexuality up in this article..
@Bigheaded I will sort out my cabinet if I get elected it's pointless getting peoples hopes up and me losing.
Your also leaving some of the the bigger things Stalin did like the purges, mass exicution of polish soldiers, worked with the Nazis, invaded Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland ect, stopped free elections in eastern Europe, installed hated communist governments and created the Warsaw pact, killed more of his own people than the Nazis, Gulags, pillaged and split Germany and he was the craziest dictator in history.
There I think I told the whole story.
Bamber, when people vote on the 5th, they just aren't voting for you. They are also voting for your cabinet. I suggest you pick one before the 5th.... Best of luck 😉
Ah negative campaigning from Iain... should i be surprised?
I remember when we used to get along, before all this mudslinging was cemented as the norm. Shame that you've stooped to such a level as well Iain.
Guess we're doing enough to warrant your attention and to get to you so we're obviously doing everything right at the moment ^_-
And good luck to TUP this election, i'm not a sour puss 😛
Mentioning someone's sexuality (or gender, or race, ...) is a personal attack and shouldn't be done.
But mentioning one of the evil things Stalin did is not mud slinging. What message does one want to convey, having an avatar of a mass murderer?
You talk as if everone who went to the gulags are innocent of there crimes
Most were
At the hight point of the gulags the population is 1.7Million yet in 1950 the population of the soviet union is at 182 Million, comparing population to the amout in these prisions in which really criminals were in its not as bad as its made out to be.
Nothing in the world can justify mass murder.
At he high point about 1% of pop was in the gulags you say. That is already quite a lot. But death toll was also very high there. So it is not 1% who went to the gulags but far more. Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulag
A lot of people did not go to camps but were killed when arrested (including minorities).
You are lucky this is just a game, in normal countries almost no one would support you. In some countries people who deny or justify genocide are put in prison.
Taken from the page you have linked to me
"Most Gulag inmates were not political prisoners, although significant numbers of political prisoners could be found in the camps at any one time"
I am not denying that murder did not take place Just not on the scale it is made out to be.
"Petty crimes and jokes about the Soviet government and officials were punishable by imprisonment"
Are we not seeing the same thing today when it come to online social networking eg The lad being arrested for tweeting to Tom Daley that he had let his dad down.
This is a horrible thing to say to Tom but should he have been arrested?
Stalin ordered to kill many soldiers the Soviet Union took prison (mainly from Poland). Stalin did sent many minorities to places where they could hardly sustain themselves so many died of hunger (and during transport). This apart from political prisoners, show process & mass executions.
You are not denying that murder took place but you know Stalin was a mass murderer. Still you use his avatar and you are downplaying his evil acts. People would better not trust you.
People would not trust me? Thanks for making your opinion of me but if you knew me a bit better you would no that I am not Stalin's biggest fan yes he is on my avatar so what! I have a poster of obama and I dont like him much.
All I am trying to say is people are to quick to point out the bad yes we should remember that people died die under Stalin.
How can you compare the atrocities of Stalin and modern political arrests?
To be clear, I am against all arrests for political reasons but mass murder is not the same as political arrests.
Also "no one would support you" Stalin was voted 3rd Greatest Russian.
Anyway in Rl I am not Stalins biggest support but he is not all negative.
"Also "no one would support you" Stalin was voted 3rd Greatest Russian."
Stalin once said, 'It's not the people who vote that count, it's the people who count the votes"
True
It was a Russian Tv station
How accurate it is I cant answer anyway lets shut up about Stalin now 🙂
back on topic....
VOTED and SUBSCRIBED, good luck b
Stalin isn't Russian he's Georgian and 1% of 120million is alot and that figure doesn't include the number of German soldiers taken to Siberia
And now I'll never mention Stalin again
"And now I'll never mention Stalin again" - No need for that, just maybe not in this thread 😃
My follow up article for the referendum mentioned above:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-pcp-let-the-people-decide--2095212/1/20
If you agree with the idea vote it, shout it & help make it happen o7
Since i saw the hammer and sickle it put me off . Clearly you have no knowledge of Communism or Russian history . Thinking Stalin is cool to put as your game pic , makes you a complete twat .
Did you know ,Stalin killed pregnant mothers and children ? Its disgusting and sad to see somebody idolizing him .
Sorry who complains about terrorists? america and uk to stop them the decided to invade Afghanistan but lets go a bit into the past who was the first one to try and stop Afghanistan??? was it russia? yes... and when russia invaded what did we do? sell the terrorists weapons? Yes. We also trained Bin Ladin against the russians but then russia leaves Afghanistan and then we realize crap they were doing a good thing. so we invade only to find them fighting back with the guns we sold them...... And
now you call the people who go to Afghanistan heroes? "LOOK OBAMA GOT THE TERRORIST" Shouting and cheering and if we hadn't got involved with Afghanistan and sold them weapons then russia would have won and we wouldn't have the Taliban bothering us. Bin ladin would be dead. and the terrorists attacks that have happened never would have happened. So lets think who really is the bad guy Stalin or USA/UK.
About Afghanistan: Yes giving aid to Bin Laden was (and is) wrong. Yes USA/UK do not help the people in Afghanistan, they do fight a war against an enemy they helped to form.
Russian invasion of Afghanistan was wrong too.
Superpowers are destroying other nations for self interest and do not stand up for human rights.
Stalin is really a bad guy. I think that life under Churchill/Roosevelt was far better than life under Stalin.
Authoritarian regimes are worse than "democratic" regimes afaik.
I do know also so called democratic states fail in upheld human rights, but at least it is a system that is supported by large amounts of the population and not a system that is based on a small part of population and abusing ALL human rights to its opponents.
It is eRepublik, it is a game, luckily we cannot torture our political opponents or send them to prison camps.
Oh god yes, it's bamber.
@GhettoVet
Can you read? I dont Idolizing Him I am sure if you come to my house you will find no posters or books on the man and if you would of looked at what I had said in later post's I dont think he was all good but he is not as bad as people make out.
"Stalin killed pregnant mothers and children ? Its disgusting and sad to see somebody idolizing him"
No change from the modern world then in Afghanistan and Libya ect
Hmm i didn't want to wade into this argument. But Niemand it's quite possible to contest that in fact the Stalinist regime had as much backing as Democratic systems do today... that probably says more about the apathy of current generations and the lack of trust in politicians than it does anything else but still.
And before anyone goes accusing me, if you know me, ya know stalin's not my thing... nor is lenin, mao, in fact any other 'communist' dictator or regime past or present.
