Join the new world

Hey everyone! I am Soliden, the current PAC director for the AMP, and I am going to give you all some tips so that you can successfully become a congressman one day. This guide is meant for the newer players, but there should be some helpful information in here too that you might not known about, so give it a read.



Where Do I Begin?

Once you reach level 15 in-game you are allowed to run for congress. To do this, you need to do two things. One, you have to apply for congress from the party page (Community tab > My Party > Apply for Congress) which can only be done from the 16th to the 24th of each month. Second, you have to fill out an official application which appears from the 16th to the 19th. That application link can be found from my news paper, or by visiting the #amp IRC channel. Before you do all that however, you are going to want to introduce yourself to everyone. Being a recognizable individual is very important, so get yourself out there. One of the first things that you should do is register on the AMP forums and make an introduction thread in the 'Welcome Hall' section. To get to the forums, click on the link HERE.

Once you've given your hello's, the next best thing for you to do would be to join IRC. IRC stands for internet relay chat, and it's where a good chunk of the meta-game occurs. One of the more popular clients is Mibbit since it's browser based and relatively hassle free. You are going to connect to irc.rizon.net and join the channel #amp. There's a more detailed thread on the AMP forums as to go about doing this if you're having some trouble. Get a chance to chat with some of the party members and figure out what's going on with innerparty politics. This can also be traced back to the forums as well, but it's better when you can interact with veteran party members. We have a knowledgeable community who would be more than happy to help fellow party members.

Experience? What's That?

Yup, experience. Being in the party and remaining fairly active on the forums and IRC helps keep your name out there, but that's only half the battle. You are really only considered if you have been with the party for a month or more. So how do you go about gaining experience? The easiest thing to do would be to volunteer for an MU, or even better, become an MU officer. This shows us that you have dedication and commitment to the eUS. You can ask your current MU commander if there are any positions opened and see where that path leads. Another common thing to do would be to become an ambassador for the eUS (There will be a link below). We're always looking for ambitious individuals to represent our nation on the world stage, and what better way to showcase that then to help your nation and make some international friends? Lastly, there is the AMP Round Table. The Round Table (RT) is our innerparty system tasked with running the party. Different departments fall under the round table such as the Legal Department, Political Action Committee, Retention Department, Communication Department, etc. which are all responsible for running our day-to-day operations. The AMP offers internships to these various departments within the party, but it's up to you to ask and see if you can intern for one of them. All you need to do is go on IRC and find an OP in #amp and ask, or send an in-game message to emdoublegee for more information.

It's Up To You!

We are also experimenting with a new political system to offer some more 'fairness' in our congressional selection process. Starting on the 16th there will be a thread under the congressional caucus section of the forms where you are to post your running platform. What that is is a brief paragraph describing your experience and rallying up support as to why people should vote for you. From the 20th until the 23rd, there will be another thread where people will vote on the people they would like to see voted into office. Each person gets a maximum of three votes for three different candidates, and come the evening of the 23rd, the list will be compiled by the party president. So get out there and make our party proud!
