++ America: Where Do We Go From Here? ++

Day 544, 07:02 Published in USA USA by Harrison Richardson

So, we've just recently lost FER.. which we spent month(s) planning for and buttloads of gold to execute. We lost by mere thousands in a 10 versus 1 all-out brawl. To say it was a failure is not correct; it was a great success, marred by a poor ending.

We put 780,000 damage up on a wall. That is one of the highest amounts in eRep history and certainly the most this country has ever done. It certainly proves the value of the war games we've been having and how much they have helped us increase our rank. So, we must continue to fight in war games -- every day!. This is being made possible by the agreement with Ireland, our faithful allies in these war game duels. Citizens and soldiers, fight, heal, and get yourself to 100 wellness -- and rinse and repeat the next day.

We must keep our current tax plan. Before the 20% tax levels (or PANEC) were implemented, this country spent peanuts on the military. Now, we have thousands of gold at the ready to battle against PEACE and their (cheating) allies. Commandant Harlot and his marines are well funded, experienced, and battle-tested. The amount of money we put into the military is huge, but the benefits it pays back to us are equally as large, if not larger. We came so close to a high diamond region, as well as a high iron region next door. Without PANEC, this would never be happening.

We must re-look at our participation in ATLANTIS. ATLANTIS, like it or not, is a sinking ship. Whether or not Romania is really going to quit or if this is all just a media frenzy to get the admins to notice, we have to assess our participation in ATLANTIS and decide if it is the best step for us. PEACE will always beckon for us to join, but as long as I live, I hope that we never join that alliance. I would be in support of a third alliance to weaken the current two-alliance system and provide more fun, diplomacy, and war to this game. ATLANTIS v. PEACE has grown old and, at least for ATLANTIS, is no longer a winning fight.

We must achieve an active and organized Army. Gen. Armandez is working hard on this as we speak, and I spoke with Lt. Gen. Joseph Schmo the other day, who assured me that all was gong well and the reorganization was going well. Dead weight is being dropped, new and active leaders are being chosen, and the Army is completely reworking how they communicate and how they keep themselves organized. With an active Army, I feel we might have won in FER. I think, in a month's time, we will look back and see what a good job Armandez has done and we will be in a better position to battle because of it.

That's all for now
