[AF] A Changing of the Guard

Day 1,904, 08:42 Published in USA USA by emdoublegee

Well, it is time. This article serves as my official retirement as Air Force Commanding Officer. I have had a blast here, and there are so many people that serve here that make it fun, but I have gotten burnt out a bit and am not able to put as much energy into the MU as it deserves. So I am stepping back, going to take some time off to just enjoy the community and playing the game.

The Air Force has always been a home for me. From my time as a Boot Camp Instructor with Roper70 and JB Battlemaster, to serving as AF XO under Creitzell after the Black Sheep split, to my current post as CO, I have served with some of the coolest people in this game. There is a real sense of community and pride here which I don’t believe can be found anywhere else. I have made some awesome friends here, and am confident that I leave the unit in good hands.

This is not me leaving the game. This is just me stepping back from official roles for a month to try and get back the fun that I had when I first started playing this game. Maybe I’ll write more, who knows. But I will not be fading into the blackness and 2 clicking. MU wise I plan on catching up with a few friends, trying out a few different private MU’s, but I will still be around as an advisor as long as the AF CO wants.

On That note I want to announce my successor as AF Commanding Officer. This man needs no introduction, he’s been a stalwart supporter of the eUSA and the Air Force for many months. The new AF CO is none other than Dr Luis Sentieiro.

Congratulations on your promotion, and I trust you to take care of this unit. If not, I will come back and kick your ass!

Finally I want to address the Airmen of AF. Thank you all for your patience and service while I was your CO. I honestly had a blast commanding you all and getting to know at least a few of you. Times are tough, especially with the budget the way it is. I ask for the same patience with Luis as he steps into his new role as Commanding Officer, and as always, AIM HIGH!
