Interview With Monsieur Guillontine

Day 1,565, 16:14 Published in Canada Canada by ultimate523

Hello again, eCitizens. I come to you finally with my second interview. It took longer than expected, but hopefully you can all forgive me.

This time I decided to go for someone outside of Canada, the current(though not for long) Swiss CP, Monsieur Guillontine. He has been the CP for the last two months, and I decided to do a basic interview rather than to just get his opinions on Canada.

What qualities do you most value, and respect in others, and what do you feel are your best qualities?

Well in others, what I respect most is when someone is able to have an understanding of morals and values and does not have to concede to dirty politics to accomplish something. A quality that I feel is the foundation for my success is my ability to diplomatically find compromises to suit the needs of both factions.

Why did you first decide to join eRepublik?

Well, I first saw this game and was pretty bored so I just decided to join!

Where did you come up with your name?

Hmm... not really sure, I just wanted something Frenchy. Haha.

Do you have any memories of eRepublik that you feel were important to you?

Some memories? When I was first in eBelgium, the worst time of my life... although I met some great people, there was an unbelievable amount of corruption and dirty politics, it just really disgusted me and propelled me into Switzerland.

Why did you decide to become CP of Switzerland?

I decided to become President of Switzerland because I had already served as Minister of Foreign Affairs for 3 months, and I felt that it was time to show Switzerland that I was capable of taking on a larger task, leading the nation to success.

How do you feel you did as CP in the past, and what specifically do you feel was good, or bad about it?

Personally, I think I got a lot of progress going in Switzerland, especially compared to previous Presidents. A lot of people think it's easy being President, and they just like to complain about things, but in reality, they have nothing better to do and are not able to come up with solutions themselves, and instead just try to bash me. But... I don't let that get to me. They can try, but they will never succeed because I know that the situation I have left Switzerland in is by far the best we have been in many months. Our foreign policy has worked out well, and there is no dispute possible.

What was it like being CP, and was it different from how you expected? If so, in what ways?

Being President was as I expected, full of mud-slinging being thrown at me, and of course, the opposition who resort to dirty politics to try to get me out of power. They failed though... so... too bad. Next time, I would encourage the opposition to try and find real reasons why I should not continue to be President and hit me there, instead of making up lies and rumors in an attempt to arouse mistrust against me.

How would you describe relations between Canada, and Switzerland during your time as CP?

Well... our relations are friendly of course, but there was really no dialogue or progressive diplomatic relations. We are just wanting to seek friendship I guess.

What do you feel is Switzerland's current place in the eWorld, and what do you expect its future to be like?

I think right now, although Switzerland is a small country, many nations around the world see us as a potential ally in the future because of our occupation of a key region where nations will need to travel through often in their conquests. Because of that, I know that other nations seek friendship with our neutral state, and do not want to force an enemy out of us.

Since you won't be running for CP again this term, what plans do you have for yourself?

Well I won't be running for President again for the next term, but I will continue to be active in Switzerland and help out in the government, and who knows, I might run for President again in the future. I just really love this country and the people motivate me to continue to do my best for Switzerland!

Lastly, is there anything else you'd like to mention to the readers?

I just want to let all the readers know that although I am a politician, it does not mean that I am a menacing, corrupt person. I strongly believe in being genuine and working hard, because that is the most rewarding thing you can receive, the success of your country. That is, after all, the whole purpose of eRepublik. Hail Baguettes!

I hope you all enjoyed that. As always, feedback is appreciated. I would also like input of whether, or not you would prefer me to attempt to go more for people from other countries, or fellow eCanadians. I'm fine with either one, and will likely do a mixture of each.

Thank you for reading,
