Why I Quit eRepublik

I am just sick of all the changes, sick of the crap that goes on in Congress, sick of most of the people. I woke up this morning, saw another change, I don't even care to know what it is. I've spent far too much time over the last 4 months getting to where I got to but I'm not interested at all in the military module, which is all that is left. Ya, I planned on being CP (and probably stood a good chance at winning), but what's the point? It's basically pushing one button, Make War. Perhaps if I had been playing for the last 3 years, I'd care enough to stay. Yes, I'll miss some of the people. But in general, I won't.
This isn't a rage quit, I'm not upset with anything in particular, I simply do not see the point in putting anymore of my time into this game. It's broken, and the Admins couldn't care any less when it comes to fixing it. I've always made my decisions in eRepublik based on the good of the country. This last one was selfish. Sure I could continue to spend 15 hours a day on the forums and IRC, maybe even be CP within a month or two, but why?
(And for those greedy people that couldn't care less that I'm leaving but are only interested in gold and CAD, I've already given it away.)
There's a number of people that I met during my time here, there have been some good times. Thank you to those of you that took the time to get to know a little piece of me. I put so much of myself into the character of "Wally Cleaver" that those who took the time to actually talk to me were talking to the real human being behind the keyboard.
I'm not going to create of a list of people to thank, those of you who would get thanks know who you are.
So, that's about that. Goodbye eCanada, I sincerely hope that I am wrong and that this game does not continue on its current course.
(I know that there have been many questions and rumors going around about me being a multi or a former player, these are not true at all. I did indeed have a citizen at the end of 2009, but that citizen only lived for less than a month and only released 1 article.)

A pretty good chance, probably.
The changes aren't anything different from what happened going from V1 to V2 (..or back), it's just that they aren't all happening at once. I'm sure that when they've rounded out the changes on a few modules, they won't be quite so frequent. Make sure to drop in in a few months and see how things are going.

I had hope for the game because of what Wally represented; a new player engaged in the game and making a positive impact.

Another sad note, FRTW (Fighting Round The World) returned to the airwaves with its podcast only to announce that their co-host, Joe Neuton, was leaving the game.
Admin is killing the game that we have come to love but they certainly are improving their business. Their changes are really motivating people to buy gold and at the end of the day, this is their core business.
Eliminating the eRep forum also reduces the amount of money they have to spend on someone reading and responding to "content". Their margins are increasing, they are getting serious about making money with this venture.

Wally, this is bad news. I really enjoyed being friends with you and you had a great impact on eCanada and the game. Please re-consider your leaving, or think of it as a temporary absence. I know you may not want to now, but think it over the next few days. Once again, this is sad. I understand where you're coming from, but the reason I play eRepublik still is because of the people. The admins f**cked up the game so long ago, way before you arrived, so you've really haven't seen much. Consider even staying just for social ties and the political aspect. But think it over.

It is sad. I reallly appreciated your work as minister. I agree with you however that so much changes demotivate us to keep playing, unless you want ti pay for gold to stay competive. : P

I've always liked your articles Wally, until this one. However, given that quote, I'm really happy that you're leaving, whether temporary or otherwise.
I don't know where you live in real life, but chances are, it is summer there and spending 15 hours a day "in here" just doesn't measure up to 15 hours a day "out there", in any season.
When I rez, I'm just barely involved so, I can't compare myself to you, except to say, it doesn't hurt to go and rezing is painless.

Walley Ill echo Addy in saying you were exactly what this country, or team playing this game needed.
It is obvious morale is down, people have lost or are losing interest and that there are very few with the passion or devotion to try and improve our place on the game board.

Definitely not Kilgore - just Wally. You were one of the best additions to eCanada in a long time. Big loss having you go. Hope all you do is take a break and reconsider, but at least enjoy the summer before even thinking of returning.

V1 was the greatest thing EVER.
Sad to see you go Wally. One of the few active players younger than myself has gone. Admins, welcome to... the result of your desires...
But god. I have one thing to say.
If the admins don't limit WPs in some way by the end of the summer, I'm leaving. Not ragequitting. Just leaving.
Actually, this is the best addition I've ever seen made to erep.
It's gonna be very good for the food market for starters.
But more importantly: Average players are going to be able to recharge 4 TIMES as much health! 'God tanks' will still be god tanks, but the potential battle influence of nations as a whole will be dramatically increased, going a long way toward counterbalancing the effect of purchased gold.
Wally... this is truly the saddest day for eCanada and all of eRepublik.
I shall miss you greatly, my friend.
