About 9 hours ago, the White House sent out a teaser press release to alert everyone of a future press release. While the teaser focused on battle wellness (and voting the article up), no real information was given out. The release promised an update soon....it has not yet come.
An hour ago, we went to war with Portugal. I have no idea why. The press release hasn't been updated and no further information has been given. As someone who likes having details, I went over to the President of Portugal's newspaper to see what he had to say. I don't speak Portuguese, but I know enough Spanish to figure it out. According to their leader, Scrabman had started peaceful negotiations with Portugal and then declared war. Based on that article and other articles, it seemed this war came out of nowhere.
Now, I'm not taking this guy's word for it, but as of right now he has had more to say than our own leader.
I JUST wrote an article about how Scrabman hasn't really done much with his presidency, and I know I'm not the only person to feel that way or write about it. This war, right now, is stinking to high heaven of 'October surprise.' You know what that is, right? It's some fabricated bullshit that goes down right before an election so the electorate feels things are too unstable to put someone new in office. It's a cheap, shitty tactic often used by incumbents to keep their jobs.
Again, I don't have enough information to know what is really going on... and that's a huge fucking problem!! Why are we at war with Portugal? Sure, they are a PEACE nation and we are allied with ATLANTIS, but what brought this battle? Why was there no warning at all? Why does it seem like there was absolutely no lead-in to this situation? Why did we declare war at the end of the day after people had fought in war games all day? Why is it taking the White House so long to inform the public about what is happening?
EDIT: We didn't even win. (we retreated)
EDIT 2: Apparently we weren't supposed to win and this is all a rouse. I guess our target is someone else and this is like some proxy bullshit. Whatever. My opinion remains the same that we haven't been properly informed and all of this secrecy is for the birds.
EDIT 3: There are some military types essentially saying we should follow orders and shut the fuck up about it. The only orders so far are to vote up an article that says absolutely nothing. I guess we'll be told where to go and who to fight at some point. I guess it never occurred to anyone that some people desire A FUCKING REASON before going into battle with another nation.
EDIT 4: I guess Romania wants more territory and we're going to help them get it. Bye Bye America. Say hello to your Romanian overlords.
EDIT 5: It's a new day and there is finally an update. Apparently there are 'no hard feelings' with Portugal since we were only attacking them to get to someone else. The guy seemed pretty pissed a few hours ago, but whatever. I'm still trying to figure all of this out. I'll keep updating. (Portugal's leader announced that the US retreated...he hardly seems 'on our side.')
EDIT 6: This will probably be my last update on this article. Scrabman is going around dropping mysterious lines about how 'all will be revealed.' I understand the need for covert operations, to an extent. But can you really call it anything other than a blunder when a press release comes out jacking everyone up for SOMETHING and then war breaks out hours later...and we're expected to do nothing?
I'm sorry but when your government tells you that you need to be on high alert and prepared for battle, and then starts a battle, wouldn't you automatically think 'this is what they wanted me to be prepared for'? It stands to reason. But no! They needed some suckers to make it look like they were going to war with Portugal when they had no intention of finishing the battle and felt no obligation whatsoever to inform their citizens that THIS isn't the fight they were told to be ready for. There will be some other mysterious future fight of epic proportions, or something. No one knows when. No one knows why. But it will blow your fucking mind, apparently.
I guess we're all expected to know it when we see it.

When you recieve your orders it should have some sort of basic reasoning for the orders. Sitting still and wait. If you dont want to do that look at the forums and you can find your answer.

Nothing, since the US isn't supposed to capture that region anyway.

A lot. The US will activate Russia's PEACE MPP's thus exposing itself to a Russian counterattack supported by their more powerful PEACE allies against Alaska. The US puts Alaska at risk by this operation.

Absolutelly nothing. If PEACE launched a simultaneous assault on Alaska from Russia and on Flordia from Portugal with their MPP's.. why would Romania bother?

Uh, wrong. If we attack Russia, their MPPs kick in for the defense, but if they decide to retaliate, they cannot use the MPPs to attack Alaska. Spread your propaganda elsewhere.

Here is what the wiki says:
"Alliances are triggered when a country is defending an original region, IE- a region where a resistance war is impossible to start.
Once triggered, they are by default active until the end of war.
Active Alliances will support all future offensive actions in any region. "
Note the last sentence. Is the wiki wrong?
