To Buy or Not to Buy, That is the Question

Day 1,340, 17:31 Published in Canada Canada by Wally Cleaver

Many times people have asked whether it is better to focus on Food Fights or using Weapons in order to make the most efficient use of one's assets and get most rank points one can get per day. There is two common beliefs. One belief is that that fighting with weapons is the best use of one's money at the risk of not having enough Food, while the other trend is to focus on having enough Food to reach the daily maximum of Food Fights.

The reason why Q5 Weapons can only be fired 5 times.

Both ideas are in fact flawed and in fact a compromise between the two needs to be reached to be an efficient soldier. The first thing that one must do when trying to get the most rank points they can is determine how many Food Fights they will be able to fight in. With 2400 health points available per day, there are a maximum 240 times one can click the “Fight” button. This number must also take into account working and training which use 10 health each. Something to consider is the maximum recoverable health. That is the bonus from one's Town Center and their +50/+100 building. This is important because once the maximum recoverable health is reached, no more health is gained until the next time one fights or works.

Therefore, one must take into account how often they can log into eRepublik to fight. For example, someone with 450 maximum recoverable strength who can log in every 4 hours that sleeps for 8 hours would be able to use 1600 health per day. Whereas, someone who has 600 maximum recoverable health but can only log on twice per day would be able to use 1200 health per day. This is the primary factor in determining how much Food one should aim at producing or purchasing. Once this number has been reached in Food production, the next focus should be on making a profit to purchase Weapons.

Couldn't find a good image, so enjoy!

The reason why focusing on Food production is primary, is because reaching one's maximum Food Fights prior to using weapons results in the most rank gained. An explanation is found below using the TemujinBC's statistics: [Q0: 2242] [Q1: 2690] [Q2: 3139] [Q3: 3587] [Q4: 4036] [Q5: 4484]

Assume that TemujinBC is available to fight in all 240 Food fights every day. For simplicity, working and training will be ignored therefore, assume that TemujinBC is given 800 CAD to spend each day on supplies.

Day 1, TemujinBC decides that he will purchase Food to fight in all 240 Food Fights, but cannot afford any weapons. Today, he gains 53,808 rank points.

240 Food Fights x 2242 (unarmed influence per hit) = 538,080 influence

Day 2, TemujinBC decides he will use Q5 Weapons being able to afford 75 fights with Weapons and Food. Today, he gains 33,630 rank points.

75 fights x 4484 (Q5 influence per hit) = 336,300 influence

As seen by the above example, it is more effective to fight in all of one's Food Fights than it is to fight in some but with Q5 weapons.

Now of course, self-supply of Food or Weapons does affect the specific numbers in this example, but that said, if the decision must be made between fighting with Unarmed more often or fighting with Weapons less often, it is best to fight unarmed.

Maybe it is not that important.

TL😃R version

1) Determine how many Food Fights you will be able to log in for each day
2) Aim to self-supply Food for these fights
3) Once Food self-sufficiency is reached, fight with Weapons.
