The end of the Army

What does the new economic module have to do with the army? Nothing, you'd say... and you'd be wrong 🙂

It's been a while now since the changes were introduced and we've all been reading about the devastating impact it has had on the businesses around the world. There has been so much yada, yada, yada about it, that I don't want to even touch the topic.

But there is something else that has surprisingly stayed overlooked. And that is the effect the changes have had on the armies around the world. In order to elaborate that, let's see what are the benefits of joining an organized army. I'm stressing organized, because there are many wannabe armies with brainless commanders/organizers.

1. The promise for extra food
2. The promise for extra weapons
3. Grouping and having more fun in the chat rooms than the average player

Now let us please analyze what has the new economic module brought to us:

1. Almost everyone can open a firm by her/himself
2. By the time a player reaches level 20, will already own 4 companies (usually grain, food, iron and weapons)

By owning so many companies and just working alone in them (no need for hiring anyone and taking all the risks coming with it), a Guru will be able to self produce about 200 health and 10 Q1 weapons per day. Now you tell me, how many armies in the world will give you this much daily? I'll take the liberty of answering the question: none.

So point 1 and 2 seen as reasons for joining the army, any army, don't make sense any more. And how many people will go over the trouble of being checked RL stuff in order to apply in one, just in order to have fun on a certain chat?

This for me is the end of the Army as we know it. A change in the war module without even touching it...
