Senate Election - A Brief Analysis
Dread Pirate Hobbits
Well, polls have closed, and it was a great turnout by the citizens of eAustralia, with 4 more voters than last month. Now we have a 24 hour wait for official results. In the meantime, here are the preliminary results:
And here are last month's results for comparison (ignore the candidate numbers):
As you can see the KMC and the ARP both seem to have benefited from the recent feud between members of the ADP, APP, and RSU. The KMC increased its share by 7 votes, no doubt helped by Ilene Dover crossing over from the RSU. The ARP doubled its previous vote. While the ADP and the APP held fairly steady, The RSU halved its vote share.
Based on a quota of 2.5% of the vote, it is likely we will fill 35 of the 40 senate seats, an improvement on last term, which I think was 30.
This is based on needing a quota of 2.5%. I'm happy to be corrected on this, I couldn't find anything suggesting that percentages would be rounded up or down to the nearest 2.5% mark.
UPDATE:
I believe the tallying works by allocating the remainder of the seats by the next highest part quota. Step Walker got in on 1.95% and dos Famas got in on 0.91%.
37 seats were filled. 3 Seats remain empty due to the KMC and APP not having enough candidates to make use of their quotas.
* Denotes a successful candidate.

Good to see someone cares enough for an analysis still. 🙂
Are you implying I'm with 7 votes? Not sure that's a compliment or an accusation... I only have one vote!
A compliment. When the leader of a party crosses over to another party they usually bring a few votes and/or members with them. The aformentioned feud effect brought a few votes as well though. I'm not sure why ARP gained more, perhaps it was also to do with other party member movements. It would be interesting to have access to historical member lists to compare.
it could also be related to the fact a party president was wrongfully PBed, a party did not want their last vote going to someone they dont trust etc. There is normally a lot of back door stuff happening.
I cri everytiem.
So you are saying that Walter Longmire & dos Famas are fine, but The.Destroyer is not???
Didn't get in sadly. dos Famas only just made it in as it was. The next closest were 0.79% for another APP empty seat and 0.73% for Caesar II. If it were were run more like a RL senate election everyone would have gotten in.
J as you would remember I was banned, so I couldnt set anything up as in places. And the RSU list is based on the time of application, not like another party that moves people to suit there requirements.
Seb2ag could set the list - he was PP from 24-th.
+ Your statement about not trusty candidates doesn't fit with your shout:
http://prntscr.com/9vh1h9
more one player left the RSU, went to another party enrolled and was moved to the bottom of their list with no reason given.
Seb2ag doesnt want to be involved in Politics anymore hence why he never ran, and why would he change the list? My comment wasnt directed at the RSU list, Seb2ag didnt even notice he was PP when the game auto put him in.
The shouts were based on the day of the voting. As you know some people have a common practice to throw their votes away to stop people they dont like in their party getting congress seats.
Frivolous use of congress proposals do not require a PP to say to someone "Hey mate that was a dick move and does not deserve another shot at congress" but hey when a block is made against a multi those memebrs are also in the wrong, so maybe there is no pleasing some people
Lets NE USA 🙂
They are our neighbors now. I am curious what people will say about the free will of congress members.
J, I am in congress so the right amount of bribing you can offer I can secretly do your bidding 😉
So anyone who votes differently to you Guag is a multi or bribed.... great logic
Well I was classed as bribing for blocking a multi. Even better logic there since I was unable to handcuff people.to stay in the party and they had there own free will to move back their previuos party.
Even better logic on that since it is acceptable to protect the country via congress nominations
Good analysis!
Snap! 2 seats from my party wasted.
May ARPian wake up coz this congress awarded 5 Gs
BTW Good analysis!
all in all, the amount of missing compared to empty seats is level, Australia could of scored 15 more gold/cc equiv (if people donated)
Hail ARP!
