Day 1,517, 17:19 Published in USA USA by XxBusinessMogulexX

Hey everybody, it's me again, sorry for not writing the promissed second part of the article-story about Oblige but I had some RL issues(Girls...they are complicated...very complicated...ughhhh) that had a bigger priority then eRep. I will publish the second part of the story this week I promisse. Now I will show you the results from the survey and the debate about the OMS.For the ones that don't know what the fu*k I'm the talking about I wrote an article a few days ago in which I interviewed Gnilraps, Maxx Johnson and Animis and they gave me their opinion about the budget and the OMS. Beside that I've also asked for your opinions and I got more responses then I thought I would get. Now here are the responses from you people.

Results from the survey

A few trolls also filled the survey and I have to say that they trolled me good xD, here are the more serious responses:

Question 1:
How do you feel about the eUSA funding a non eUSA group that fights for our Terra Alliance alongside of eUSA soldiers and Militia members?

1.As long as the funding is not equivalent to that given the eUSA military groups I'm fine with it. Damage is damage.
2.If it follows the OMS code as stated by Maxx Johnson in your article, that's fine. If it doesn't, It's dead weight that needs to be cut.
3.What unit are you referring to? Bad Company and OWLS both are partially based out of the USA.
4.Depends on the group. Traditionally, every country keeps funds on hand in order to hand out emergency supplies to allies.
5.As long as its for our needs I'm fine with it.
6.I think it's good to fund foreign MUs but there should be similar requirements for the funding that in some way mirror the requirements we have for our own citizens MUs. These could be worked out by Terra/Eden leaders just as our own requirements were worked out by our own leaders. Any, but not every T/E country should be part of funding external groups and a list of benefactors should be made public along side a list of those MUs that received payment from the super fund.
7.Thats bullshit, I pay takes to defend and help our own damn nation. Not pay other folks mouths.
8.As long as they fight along with our own priorities WHICH THEY DO. It's the same as funding any other militia.
9.Damage is good, however couldn't we be better served by relaxing the 100 member limit in certain circumstances and spending that money on our citizens that fight where we order? ... see EZC, ST6
10.I think that is fine, as long as they are following OMS restrictions.
11.fine, if Congress knows and Votes to approve funding.
12.No Militia outside America should be receiving funding.
13.Its alright. Its called supporting the cause.
14.I would prefer funding go to native American units all things equal.
15.f we go strictly how the code is written it a militia like that is NOT eligible for funding. The current project lead is in violation of the code and should be stripped of his power as OMS head and all funding cut off.

Question 2:
What is your opinion on the budget/OMS?

1.They are doing about the same damage the SF and UM are doing and the SF are getting 3 drops of supplies a day and it`s waste of money that can be given to OMS
2.OMS budget is critical to US based militia operations. It should not be decreased any more. Increasing it would allow for more members.
3.It needs to be increased with so many new guys in EZC especially
4.It is as it always has been. Made in secret, forced into voting with out any real explanation other than "Thats classified" or "We cant say that our enemnies are watching". Funding the Military is a waste of time. Half its current commanders are there strictly because they brown nosed one or two specific individuals. Then you have a branch that still gets OMS funding on top of Government Military funding (Ultra Marines) because their former calls the shots in our nation from behind a curtain.
5.Until the OMS follows the rules setting it up I would oppose an increase in funding.
6.Good thing. But, needs to be based on strength per member.
7.Totally insane and highly abused. There is NO accountability at all.
8.Too much information withheld from Congress. OMS groups and USAF all need to take a page from the ostracized JCS handbook about self sufficiency.
9.Some people don't understand the need for some of the lines in the budget, so they try to change it to suit their own the best. As for OMS, hard to tell, people are not viewing its purpose in the same way as when it was first created.
10.As a former congressperson, the budget process is a fucking joke. You can argue all day, but in the end there are enough "EC knows what they are doing" people to override anything you say. OMS itself is one of the best investments the government makes, it allows us to fund fighters without having to run communes etc.
11.I'm good. I know the taxes hurt but getting wiped hurts more. I watch the forums and haven't seen evidence of real corruption yet. I would like it if MU payments were made more public. These groups are very visible so I feel the help they receive should be equally visible to the country that funds them.
12.Needs a base formula in addition to an incentive based on production. IE a basic amount of food and tanks per active player. Then a bonus based on damage per player.
13.Needs to be distributed equally to usa based militas.
14.Depending how much money is currently in the budget, It would be acceptable to take a certain amount of the money that goes into the budget and put it towards OMS.
15.The Budget is fine. We do overpay via OMS for its mission, however.

Question 3:

What needs to be changed about the OMS funding or the current budget?
1.OMS funding needs to occur based upon the definition and guidelines established. It's been increasing and I'm not sure that's a good thing. If people want to be supplied at a higher rate they should join the official military and stop fucking around in militias. I'm a hardass like that.
2.The OMS should tighten up about their codes and strictly enforce who gets funded and who doesn't solely based off the codes. It should also post public records of which militias get how much money. As Gnilraps said, the public has a right to know. It's our tax dollars. As for the budget, like I said, without knowing how much is in there I can't make a fair judgment. I do understand the need to keep it private, and in this regard I will trust that the POTUS and the people who have access to that information will make the best decision for the country.
3.More self sufficient, less reliance on eus gov for funding.
4.Everything(This guy/girl really made efforts to tell us what needs to be changed xD)
5.A bit more cash probably wouldn't hurt OMS. Although, in all honesty, encouraging bigger militias to join the USAF as their own branch also would be ultimately beneficial.
6.Mostly just rule enforcement. I'm ok with the legal set up and I understand how much work congress is, especially with having to fight tax-trolls every single fucking term but that's what congress is right? A ton of hard work, trolls, and one headache after another. That's why I didn't run for the last many months....maybe when I have a lighter work load at home.
7.We should cut taxes and use what we have in the reserves.
8.IMHO, we should move more towards a militia based system with a decrease in the importance of the USAF. The USAF has a pretty bad track record of management of the DO and supply distribution problems. note: I'm USAF and have a first hand view of said inefficiency, other groups may have similar problem, i'm just not as aware of them.
9.Nothing unless we can find a way to get more money out of our in-game treasuring into the CBO.All the results from the survey(the serious ones as I said), didn't wanted to give any comments, you can judge by yourself.

The discussion

Well not much people had guts to join the discussion and state their opinions. It was mainly a discussion between few people. Here's the discussion:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/oms-1944233/1/20 (in the comments).
Again didn't wanted to give any opinions, I'm gonna stay neutral and ask again for your opinions. Now that we have the results and the opinion of the people, what do you think? Did you expect this?
You will probably think that I'm a lazy ass for not writing more, but I have RL issues as I said in the
introduction and those issues have higher priority then this game so I was limited with time. So forgive me for my inactivity and my laziness. Judge yourself and discuss this, one more time if you wish.
I apologize if I have made any grammatical/spelling mistakes.
