Not the worst occupation...

To be honest, I think
🙂
Thanks for all your hard work!
Before the invasion, Chaz published a poll revealing that a majority of people would be willing to pay higher taxes in support of the military. I went on about it a bit… (gotta support my best pal Chaz) I was pretty roundly put down by the UKPP and others, and I think wayne said the only way to fund the military is for the big boys to pay for it. Well, then we got invaded and Chaz run out of money…
Unfortunately, we can’t raise taxes right now because we'd just be giving money to our occupiers, but wayne and Dave Trenga came up with a pretty good plan (not being sarcastic...) They wanted to start a commune to fund it and lower minimum wage to make it work. Wayne put up the proposal but it got voted down.
So, it sounds like maybe it only didn’t go through because of how no one loves our wayne. I’ve put it up again and hopefully we can get this all sorted out.
I’d also like to thank everyone who voted TUP at the congress election; we did pretty well. Hopefully, you’ll all remember us when you’re voting for CP
🙂
I think our TUP candidate will be announced pretty soon so hopefully we’ll actually have some kind of debate this month. And it would be really cool if we could all be cool and just argue about cool things like policies and things
🙂
Cool?
Lots of love,

How's the wife?
Wife?
Yes, your wife...
Yes
How is she?
Yeah definitely
Don't make her send you more gold so you don't get banned again...
Yeah, that was bad
Chaz hasn't ran out of money...
Poor Chaz...
more like rich Chaz...
HAHAHAHAHAHA
"So, how’s the occupation going?"
Really badly now that the Gov has agreed to a TW that means I can't work in my factories. Up until then it wasn't too bad.
Good luck with the new proposal.
Thanks Jiminy
Good luck with your factories 🙁
We are attempting to get Colombia to release our bonus regions . Not a great deal we can do but hope they do free em soon.
Issues to consider:-
Training War - if this takes place on eUK soil then you will always get citizens who cannot work in their factories. Solutions - Not have TW's on eUK soil.
Citizens need to move their factories - compensation?
Military funding - I am not in favour of individuals providing funding; it should be through taxes with Congressional budgeting and oversight. Once you start relying on individuals you are potentially at the whim of those individuals who then may start demanding they make the decisions - we've been there before and it is a recipe for division and disaster.
Tax. In order to have Congressional funding you need to raise funds through higher taxes. Taxes could still be raised during a TW if the right agreements could be signed to guarantee the taxes paid to the occupiers was returned to the Treasury.
Seems that's what we always do, which is why everyone loves TW with eUK, cos it's always an away game for them.
The solution is no TW's and no fighting for the eUK until WAR is upon our shores. eUK TW's are a new thing, but with TP medals being a thing, people bitch and complain when we go too long without TP opportunities
Damned if the Government does and damned if they don't...
Come back to eUK and make your case, otherwise you are just a meddling foreigner that will ignored.
For now though, I'll humour you:
Training War - we could just not have a TW. I think people assume that we have guys lining up round the block to TW with us. Harambe will tell you how difficult it is, Mitte couldn't get one pushed through even though it was agreed in principle and we all know the efforts in which Roachford tried to find us one. Pauly suggested that the Government helps share the burden of moving companies to our bonus regions, but your mate Huey pooh-pooh'd the idea claiming it was too expensive (go look at the cost and then tell me it's viable)
Military funding - Unless you tax us to high heaven, our player base cannot afford to pay for our adventures and our supplies. I alone spent over 600k in one RW against a country that is comparable. We simply cannot pull in enough cc to keep it going long term. As I've said in other comments, a Sugardaddy is needed and if that means having to dance to his tune every now and again, I'm fine with that. Rich players tend to be good players.
Tax - Again, can our player base handle a tax hike and continue to grow or will the Government have to reimburse some at the expense of the many. The market isn't exactly awash with profit. In my opinion lowering taxes and having donation runs is by far the better tactic. Let's take me for example, not the best example as I doubt I'm anywhere near the average account/worker. Seeing as I don't buy from the marketplace, sell on the marketplace and all I do is work a regular job twice a day, eUK's tax take from me is nothing. Somedays 2cc is all they take. If we handed the cap out every now and again, I'd happily chuck in a few thousand. I'm sure there are other examples not quite as extreme as that.
TW automatically means our key bonus regions? Ofc not, it's a war that turns into a TW because the aggressor realises it'll prolong the situation. A true TW is harder to organise as there is a little less incentive to team it with one country over another.
A defence of exasperation is pretty weak, people are going to complain at situations, because... it's different people complaining and those people have different issues.
For my own part, I generally don't complain much, as I know there are other sides with competing desires. That said, when we're raving about the benefits of TP medals (I'm skilling Air module) I'm not feeling max happy.
When talking about our long standing MoFs thoughts on funding a rather obviously expensive solution, I'm inclined to treat him with more respect than to say he's 'claiming' anything.
Generally I've got a lot of time for your ideas Wayne, but it's not a clear cut road to 'the right way'. Increasingly I get the feeling that as soon as anyone raises question, they're completely wrong, standing in the way of the obviously right choice for progress.
Our bonus regions were never up for TW's. The Swedish one, they had to cut through Scotland to reach their regions, so a day or two of lost work. Georgia never went north, so didn't impinge on bonus regions. If you have companies in London, that has often been effected by TW's, then that is the fault of the player for sticking holdings in a useless region.
While the TW with USA is going fine, Colombia are a different kettle of fish. They are either purposefully ignoring our calls to release the production regions or English is not mastered and they don't understand fully what we are asking.
So you are suggesting instead of trying to please people, we should just do nothing and allow everyone to complain freely? You have to weigh up which side is likely to kick off and cause a fuss and placate them for time until the other side starts getting restless and fidgeting about. Then you switch and give them what they want and so forth for the rest of time.
His claim is it would be too costly and I was in agreement with him, infact when we sat down and crunched the numbers, we were all in agreement, hence why nothing more as been said. We all agree in principle it's the best game move we could do, but the cost/benefits is way out of line.
My way is often the right way, Mike. But saying that, people are welcome to question my ideas, to put them to the test. I will always look for the negative side of an idea first and if it passes the first hurdle it's given more thought until a time comes when the good or the bad outweigh one another. Surely that is how any good idea is formed? I can't think of any other way then to question and debate...
Trouble is I couldn't get anyone to do what I wanted before, so I can't see it happening now.
Things started to go wrong when we lost the proposed MPP with USA in Congress a few months back, because I wanted to add the Pacifica MPP's to the ones we already had (Orion, Asteria). I kept prodding Aaron to get rid of Belarus so we could add Poland. The eUK seems to have a military/foreign policy titled towards about half a dozen people - look at yesterday when some people from other countries were doing 10's or even 100's of billions of damage in epic battles to win pumpkins (free tanking) yet only one person in eUK even got to 1bn all day! If as you've stated (and I agree) people should be concentrating on air battles only then they won't be getting TP medals so they don't need direct wars.
I cant see anyone in the eUK moving in the direction I want, so I think for the time being I'm going to stay put, keep quiet and wait for better times.
People don't do what I want them to either, Paul. I think your problem is, is that you surrounded yourself with the wrong type of player. Your account is by far better than most of your TUP friends, you actually have a good understanding of the mechanics and have obviously used them to your advantage. But those around you didn't and don't. The group you are from are not known for their up to date knowledge of current events or mechanics so their ideas are mainly ignored cuz most of the time it's half arsed thought through and what feels good instead of actually being good.
While our relationship might have soured since my return and I'm under no illusions that we weren't best buddies before, I did have time for you and I respected your opinions. I still do when your are not trying to jump down my throat and claim wild conspiracies. You don't need me to tell you, that there is a citizenship pass for you should you change your mind.

But in general I'm not in favour of p*ssing money up the wall for an inevitable training war
Don't worry Chaz, we're gonna help you out 😉
The commune owners are rich enough without making their profits easier. I hope congress doesn't fall for this scam
it's not a commune bruh...
in a commune you trade your labour for supplies. with this idea, willing people trade their labour so others can get supplies.
Players consent to the slavery. This game is probably the only time it's ever easier to get the highest paid job available than it is to get a minimum wage one.
Anybody in a commune who notices they're getting a raw deal should just leave then check the front page of the job market. Not that difficult.
