News From the Front

Day 3,938, 02:01 Published in Ireland United Kingdom by Rusty D
This article is meant to be a light hearten look at recent events, so dont take it too seriously

Greetings eIreland,

Some of you older folk, might remember my article series called "News From the Front" which I wrote when France attempted to Air Strike Ireland and the UK back stabbed a TW agreement and tried to invade Ireland.

Whilst that battle ended with France not even landing and the UK almost being wiped, impeaching their government and then wanting peace, it allowed me to dig into my creative writing and have some fun with the UK's annihilation on the battle field at the hands of the mighty Irish military and her allies. Well, depending on how the last remaining votes on the United Kingdoms NE proposal goes.... we might all have some fun again.

At this current time, the NE needs 2 more votes to pass and there is 2 more people to vote

As we can see it, might actually come down to the wire... so with this in mind, let us look at the current Irish position.

Irish soldiers taking the UK threat seriously

Currently Ireland is involved in a TW with Croatia and has a resource agreement with France. So let us take a look at these two aspects first, before we look at a potential internal aspect that could effect Irelands battle plans.

Croatia

The history between Croatia and Ireland is a long one, built on strength and mutual respect. Between players moving between the two countries, to joint military operations, Ireland and Croatia have many parts of their history entwined with one and another.

The possibility of the UK invasion, not only would show disrespect towards Croatia due to their friendship with Ireland, but it would also effect the current TW agreement with Ireland. Due to this, the UK might have to go head to head with several Croatian tanks who would undoubtedly lend support to their Irish brothers.

France

France and Ireland have had a "on again, off again" relation. However more recently they have worked very well together with TW's and with the latest update the "Natural Resource Concession"

Depending on which regions the UK tries to take (if the NE is voted for), France would see her rented regions be effected. Whilst the game mechanics allow for an occupied region to still be coincided to the lessee, it does allow for the removal of the country bonus.

But not only will any occupied French region be a matter of bearing in this potential war, the actual agreement signed between the French and Irish governments, take into account any hostile actions.

A Enemy from Within

Not only is Ireland facing a potential threat from outside, it is also facing one from inside. Whilst this player has threaten to try and do a MTO in the past, only to realise that he neither has the money or ability to do it, it is worth noting that he has also sided with the enemy on several occasions.

While the jury is still out on whether this is a credible threat or just the normal hot air, if a potential war was to take place with the UK, this disturbance might be something someone would try and seize on, to take advantage and look after their own self interests. It is not know in if deals have been made in the back ground or it is just an opportunistic moment, all in all, it will add to the fun of the next few days.

Either way, the press are preparing their camera's, donning their vests and are getting ready to provide some frontline reporting for you all.
