My First Article (So, Please Forgive Me If I'm Rambling a Bit)

Day 1,818, 22:43 Published in USA Republic of China (Taiwan) by Cicero Alvez

Greetings everyone!

As you can see in my profile page I was born about two month ago. Committed two clickers at first, I've grow fond of this game (but not too fond, yet) and it's unique feature, chief among them is the media feature. I love to read them but I'm not sure I can write well, especially because English actually my second language (yes, I'm not a RL American, so, perhaps Homeland Security currently performing a background check on me 😉 for all I care). But now that I've jump on both feet to the unchartered water that is media world--infested, no less, by several legion of trolls and grammar-sharks--I might just take full advantage of it and blurt out everything on top of my mind.

On the last two month as eUS citizen, I can't help but notice several things:

1. Grammar-Shark, or, as other people would prefer, Grammar-Nazis.

They are mainly prevalent on article created by AFA big-wigs, especially Hanibal LA. While several of other AFA approved article have some serious linguistic flaw in it (to the point that those article were almost indistinguishable from iNCi internal publication), IMHO, Hannibal article aren't really that bad. In fact, the only purpose of language is to provide human being with a means to communicate with another. Grammar is just rules, which regularly ignored even by English native speakers. So, for the love of God, please find another way (preferably some smart argument) to voice your disapproval on others opinion. I'm not trying to come to Hannibal defense or anything, but I believe blasting people for their grammar are dick moves. Besides, Hannibal (and the likes) at least speak two languages. Most grammar-sharks usually only speak one (English, that is).

2. US Dwindling Resources.

This was supposed to be a "strategic move" to counter PTO threat. What I think the politician fail to realize is, the Serbs PTOed us for the lulz, not the resources. How could we make that go away? Meanwhile, our troops get less supply, our industrialist produced below capacity, and our tax revenue are shrinking.

Okay, perhaps noobs like me were not in the position to question the collective wisdom of "Council of Elders" who've been around since dinosaur roam this New World. But please think about this: New Zealand have worst bonus than USA, even when they have regions (which they usually don't), and Serbs still hang in there.

3. Spooky Aura of eUS Training Corps.

I'm currently in the Cannon Cockers and feel really comfortable (Thanks guys!), but in my first week, I'm actually trying to enlist to the Training Corps. But when USTC recruitment officer PM me about my application a week later, he made me feel like I'm enlisting to a real boot camp. Now, I don't know whether that's a deliberate move (to filter out less serious applicant), or not. But that scare me away!

I'm just grateful that I found C4 early in the game, where I can enjoy this game on my own pace, while still directing my damage for Team USA. Not all of us are "military type", you know. With that in mind, perhaps it will be beneficial for USA if, in addition to promoting USTC, the President also include link to more laid back MU in his welcome message to new citizen, so every noobs could enjoy this game better, and hopefully, play longer.

4. Unequal Burden of Alliances.

During the last two month, I fought exactly four times for USA; during FYROM invasion of our mainland, our retaliatory invasion of FYROM, our Indo invasion, and fighting against Chilean invasion few days ago. All the other day I spent fighting for our allies, because apparently "USA not currently involved in any active battle". Which means, our allies help US like, twice a month, and we spent every other day fighting for them 🙁.

Look, I know this is a strategy game and I should look at the big pictures (which eludes me, probably because I have no idea why and how our "Council of Elders" come to their decision in regard of our country), but not involving us in any active battle present some problem for noobs who's planning to use their "batzuka" to work on their True Patriot Medal 🙂. It will disappear for good in less than 24 hours, you know. And some of us prefer no to squander it on Argentina.

On the last note:

I know not too many people fancy long article. So perhaps I should stop right now. But since this, indeed, is my very first article, I'd like to ask your opinion on two thing. Is this any good? Should I keep writing or should I do everyone a favor and just shut my mouth? Please write your opinion in the comment section below 🙂.
