and the library computer will not let me use the inbox...(that means I could not respond to you Dill, forgive me)...nor can I shout this article, will someone please do so for my friends in the eUS
I will be fairly inactive until my computer dilemna is resolved...
also thank you Gnilraps for mentioning me in your contest, I guess if anyone ever understands me, you would know to assume it wasn't really me???
What hurts more than not being able to stay intouch with my online friends, I can't promote my artshow...anyone in central VA, that's interested can give me a shout and I will give up the location. Though I had loaded a lot of images up to imgur.com before my computer went south. And interestingly enough I found that dealing with the trolls of this game helped immensely when it came to dealing with the trolls there (or Emerick you aren't all worseless after all;P)

use gnu/linux then, it is, after all, immensely better than mac and windows combined.
try kubuntu.org, that's nice newbie friendly distribution.

Google Chrome. : ) First I used Internet Explorer, realized it was trash, used Firefox, got tired of that, now I use Google Chrome and it works faster and perfectly. : D

Just get a $300 Acer. I've been using my "back up" computer for almost 5 years now. It is 8 years old, still running XP Home, SP3. Hasn't missed a lick. My stupid $3500 HP laptop burned up the VPU on the MB (twice). That was the first time I changed a MB in a laptop, I ain't never doing that again. I'll change drives and add memory to a laptop but f the MB. To many ity bity screws.

Opinions are fine but truth is better. Apple can do some things very well. However it is a 'closed' OS and has limited peripherals. PC platform has multiple OS available and depending on the OS and the operators knowledge the peripherals are limitless.
Ubuntu and some coding skills and anything is possible.
My bottom line is use what works best for you.

Pickle's response is how I wish all people approached the situation. Any Apple vs. PC arguments usually come down to "Apple sucks" or "PC is trash."
I've helped several on another forum. I learned a long time ago that it doesn't matter who's name is on the box as long as the machine does what you want it to do. As with any tool, if the work is accomplished with the minimum of effort then the tool is "good".
That's good romantic advice also
