Merry Christmas from CCP

Day 2,221, 02:57 Published in Canada Australia by Send love to Plato

Well In under a weeks time we will be celebrating the wonderful time of year we call Christmas, a time where we promote peace, goodwill and selfless acts towards our fellow man and woman. So I decided to release a Christmas edition of 'View from above...'

We at the Canadian Communist Party would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and If you do not celebrate Christmas then we extend our hands in friendship and hope you have a pleasant New Year and that prosperity and happiness find their way to your home.

In the spirit of the season the CCP would like to share some links to fantastic Christmas films on You-Tube with you to help you get into the Christmas spirit.

First film is the Frank Capra classic - It's a wonderful life, a timeless classic starring the late, great James Stewart. It is a story of a down trodden local businessman who has devoted much of his life to serving his community and when his uncle loses a considerate amount of money that will ruin him and his family, he takes the fall and contemplates suicide.

Considered one of the greatest ever Christmas movies and we hope you enjoy it.

The next choice is the 1951 classic Scrooge. It stars Alastair Sim and is the tale of a miserly old man who through the visit of three ghosts, sees the true meaning of Christmas and repents. It is the telling of the Charles Dickens story - A Christmas Carol. This version Is widely considered the best telling of the Dickens story and I have included the coloured version rather than the Black and White. Enjoy.

The next choice is two animated tales from Raymond Briggs, the first one is the classic animation - The Snowman which has become a regular part of TV showings since it was introduced in 1982. It's a heartwarming tale of a boy who's snowman comes to life and their adventures.

Secondly is a lesser known gem called - Father Christmas. It is a humerous story of what Father Christmas does in the other 365 days of the year and is very under rated sadly.

For those of you who love humour and near the knuckle jokes then we suggest the comedy classic Father Ted A Christmassy Ted, It is just so worthy of viewing and Is about a former disgraced Catholic priest living on a small Island with two other priests. This seriously is one of the funniest things you will ever see at Christmas.

And finally there is a comedy that doesn't get much credit outside of Canada but it is an unpolished gem - Trailer Park Boys - Dear Santa.... Now please be warned this contains adult humour but those of you of age should enjoy this very much.

Well that is all from your favourite Canadian Communist party, we again express our sincere hopes that you have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
