“Meet the UKRP” is a series of articles I’m going to be writing this term, interviewing both old and new Reform members, finding out why they love the party and why YOU should join!

This is number 2 in the series, please read them all!

Today, I interviewed CottonPicken, a relatively new member of the party, who we all think has a bright future in the party!



1: Why did you join the UK Reform Party?

Well actually there is a funny story concerning this. It was during my first few days of joining eRepublic and if I’m being honest I didn’t really have a clue what was going on, what the game was about, and what I was supposed to do. I was inundated with messages from different parties asking me to join and I’d receive blah blah blah. I have to admit, it did sound tempting. Nevertheless I thought I would have some fun as I didn’t know what else to do and move to Italy because I uhh… liked pizza. Thankfully TheDark found me lurking in IRC and explained everything I needed to know to get started in the game. It was his helpfulness that made me join UKRP. If it hadn’t been for the pending citizenship request and subsequently having to wait to join a party TheDark just may not have found me in time. So I’m grateful, in that sense, for my silly moves in the first few days of joining.



2: What made you stay?

The community at UKRP is the main reason for me staying. Every member of the party has been willing to help and give advice any time that I have asked. IRC is always packed with people to talk to about both eRepublik issues and other non-game related discussions. I have also had great fun recording podcasts with other members from the party who welcomed me into the team at only a few weeks old. They are all great people with likeable personalities and it is because of this I have enjoyed my time at UKRP so far.



3: Where do you see the party in the near future?

The party is full of dedicated, active people who, when there is a job, get it done! I believe that with these people working so hard the party is capable of achieving anything that it sets out to do. We need to continue increasing the membership of the party so we have a greater chance of getting our views heard (which are pretty awesome) 😛 Like I said, with the group of people behind UKRP I think this is definitely achievable.



4: Do you see yourself leading the party in the future?

Well, it is very early days for that. It is possibly something that I would think of doing in the future but first I must fully understand the politics of the game and develop more confidence in my ideas. This is not something I have spent too much time thinking about but once I have been here for a while I will surely give it some more thought.



5: Finally, give new players a reason why they should join the UKRP 😉

Like I have said before, it is the incredibly active community that makes the game much more exciting. So new players, if you would like to be a part of this hilarious group of people then UKRP is the party to join. We may not offer the most weapons but I believe that we offer something much more meaningful than that: guidance, friendliness, and someone to chat away to at all times of the day.
