Como un miembro del congreso eCubano primero quiero felicitar a todos los eCubanos que fueron a las urnas y votaron, enviando el mensaje y dejando en claro su opinión sobre qué creen que es mejor para eCuba en el camino democrático.

No menos importante, yo quiero felicitar al primer presidente de eCuba, ¡Albus Dumbledore! Bueno, Albus, ¡felicitaciones! Espero que nos lideres con sabiduría, porque nosotros necesitamos un líder sabio ya que se viene un duro mes.

Además, quiero felicitar a Albus por lograr algo totalmente inesperado, y, además, algo que yo pensé que era imposible, Albus, lograste unir serbios y croatas, juntos con los griegos en una coalición.



Por más de que haya sido contra ti mismo, ¡tienes mi respeto por ese sacrificio que hiciste! Ok, ya sé que no fue tu intención, todo lo contrario, pero como sea...

La misión

Ahora tu misión debe de ser congregar a todos los jugadores de eCuba en una comunidad, ¡pero yo espero que ya sepas eso!

No es porque necesites querernos a todos, es porque Cuba va a necesitarnos a todos cuando las batallas comiencen. Y van a comenzar pronto... Cuba va a necesitar entonces toda la ayuda que pueda recibir, y seguramente mucho más.



Desde mi experiencia en eRep, cuando hay intereses incluidos, hay muy pocos amigos y naciones amigables.

Pero lo que sé, yo vengo desde Croacia y está bien en el borde de las Balcánicas (Actualmente, un tercio de Croacia está en las Balcánicas, un tercio está en el Mediterráneo y un tercio está en Europa Central.)

Albus, estoy seguro que necesitábamos a alguien como tu para liderarnos en la Europa del sureste. Así que, si alguna vez quieres ser electo en la región más turbulenta del eMundo, yo puedo dar buena fé acerca de ti ahí. Además espero que aprendas un poco más acerca de nuestras culturas, eso podría ser útil para tal rol público.

Hasta entonces, hay un montón que aprender aquí en eCuba para todos nosotros. Así que, yo creo que tal conocimiento puede ser útil aquí también, ya que según las elecciones a CP, 45% de los eCubanos apoyaron el candidato UFC representando la coalición de serbios, griegos y croatas (así como otras naciones incluidas)

Mirándolo de otra perspectiva, cínicamente se podría decir que Albus además es un candidato a Cp que se manejó para dividir su apoyo desde 100% a 51% en sólo tres días ¡y logró eso sólo con sus palabras! Como sea que lo mires, es sorprendente y a su vez algo de lo que aprender.

Construyendo la confianza

Personalmente, yo vine aquí a ayudar y aprender más acerca de Cuba, cubanos, cultura hispánica y lenguaje. Sacando de lado un poco de suerte y un dedo rápido, eso es la razón principal por la que estoy aquí. Y yo creo que aplica para muchos otros ciudadanos eCubanos.
También creo que para cualquiera eso puede ser difícil de creer.

eRep y TO’s

Ya que yo estoy seguro que todo nuevo, joven o simplemente pequeño país en eRepublik se horrorifica ante la posibilidad de ser Toveado. Y especialmente por los jugadores de las regiones Balcánicas, siendo esos serbios, rumanos, griegos, croatas o cualquier otro grupo (étnico). Algunas naciones de eRep son bastante notorias por sus TO, algunas hasta se sienten orgullosas de ello.

¿Cómo es eCuba diferente? Bueno, eso depende. Esta es la primera vez que se combinan ciudadanías aleatorias con un proceso de selección mediante la cual se prueba la conexión con cierta nacionalidad. Y es menos probable que la mayoría de todos esos ciudadanos electos aleatoriamente entre más de 5000 players sean TOvers.

Por el otro lado, el miedo es en todos lados el mismo. La gente se asusta de lo que no conocen. Nosotros no sabemos qué esperar de la gente que no conocemos. Llegar a conocer personas que son diferentes de nosotros toma tiempo y esfuerzo. Y los lenguajes son sólo otra barrera. Manejando esto de manera equívoca y manejándolo con miedo es lo que hace la diferencia. Entre precaución y paranoia hay una delgada línea.

Poniendo a todos los jugadores no hispánicos en la misma canasta puede facilitar el sentimiento de seguridad.
Lamentablemente, eso, está muy lejos de ser la mejor manera, y ni siquiera es un buen camino a seguir. Generalmente, a largo plazo es la peor manera. Es mala porque divide a la gente y está dividiendo su fuerza en dos. Es fácil conquistar gente cuando están divididos.

Tal vez algunos de ustedes recuerden:
“Unidos nos levantamos, divididos caemos”



Aesop dijo eso hace 2600 años, y btw, él fue griego.
¿Podrán los eCubanos aprobar esta prueba?

Mi vista personal acerca de los resultados de la elección

Finalmente, hay otro tema importante; Multicuentas. Personalmente, a mi no me agrada la injusticia y yo considero que el uso de multicuentas y el manejo de elecciones es una gran injusticia, tanto en eRep como en RL.

Además, no estoy sorprendido por el uso de multcuentas que se llevó a cabo en la elección de CP. Hubiese estado más sorprendido si tal fenómeno no se hubiese manifestado. Realmente, estoy sorprendido de que se haya hecho presente en una cantidad tan pequeña.

Personalmente, estaba un poco disconforme con los dos equipos de gobierno de los Cp ya que eran principalmente todos de un mismo partido, así que yo estuve pensando por un largo tiempo si debería votar o debería dejar pasar las elecciones. Ya que sentí que mi deber cívico era votar, finalmente voté temprano en la mañana al día siguiente, un par de horas antes de que la elección cerrara.

Los resultados finales no difieren mucho de estos. Así que si el uso tan desmedido de multicuentas, dejando 100 de estas reportadas según lo que reporta luisluisluis en este artículo, estoy sorprendido que los resultados no sean diferentes y de una diferencia tan grande entre los candidatos ni que el rating de votos entre los mismos no haya sido significantemente alto. Además, si hubo tal multeo, estoy también sorprendido de que no hubo tantos votos sustraidos. Así que yo difícilmente creo que ese multeo del que se habla haya ocurrido ya que yo he visto elecciones mucho peores en eCroacia y posiblemente en eSerbia. Por otro lado, dudo seriamente que los admin tengan un 100 % de presición en su método de detección en cuanto a si una cuenta es una multi o no. En realidad estoy seguro que no lo tienen. Yo estaría feliz si ellos lo tuvieran. Así que a mi parecer los admin sólo se aseguran que un grupo de jugadores de un “país equivocado” no ganen las elecciones en su primer intento. Por favor devuélvanme la confianza en ustedes.

Aviso

Aprendan otros lenguajes, conozcan gente y comuníquense... Se sorprenderían al ver que sus propios prejuicios disminuyen o hasta desaparecen.

Además, piensen por ustedes mismos, no tomen todo lo que escuchen por cierto, ni siquiera sus líderes de partido u otros personajes políticamente influentes pueden estar equivocados o pueden estar tratando de manipularlos...



Y después de todo, somos todos humanos, todos cometemos errores y es humano el estar equivocado. Pero no dejen que eso pase tan fácil, muy seguido o demasiado. Lo mismo aplica para los miembros del congreso y los CP. Ustedes no están aquí por su propia cuenta, están por todos los eCubanos. Mantengan eso en sus mentes.

As a Congress member of eCuba first I want to congratulate to all eCubans who went to the polls and voted, thus sending a message and stating their opinion on what they think is best for eCuba in a democratic way.

Nothing less important, I want to congratulate to the first president of eCuba, Albus Dumbledore! Well, Albus, congratulations! I hope you'll lead us wisely, because we'll need a wise leader as there is a tough month ahead of us.

I also want to congratulate to Albus for achieving something totally unexpected, and, even more, something what I thought was impossible; Albus, you managed to unite Serbs and Croats, together with Greeks, in a coalition.



Even if it was against yourself, you have my respect for that sacrifice you made! OK, I know that wasn't your intention, quite the contrary, but anyway.

The Mission

Now your mission should be to unite all of the players of eCuba, but I hope you already know that!



It's not because you need to like all of us, it's because Cuba will need all of us when the battles start. And they will start very soon! Cuba will then need all the help it could get and most certainly a lot more.



From my eRep experience, when there are interests included, there are very few friends and friendly nations.



But what do I know, I come from Croatia and it's on the very border of the Balkans. (Actually, one third of Croatia is on the Balkans, one third is on the Mediterranean and one third is in Central Europe.)

Albus, I'm sure we'd need someone like you to lead us in Southeastern eEurope. So, if you ever want to get elected in the most turbulent region of the eWorld, I could put a good word for you there. I also hope you'll learn a bit more about our cultures, it could be useful for such a public role.

Until then, there is a lot to learn here on eCuba for all of us. So, I guess such knowledge could be useful here, too, as according to the CP elections 45% of eCubans supported UFC candidate representing Serbian, Greek and Croatian coalition (also other nations included).

Looking from other perspective, a cynic could say that Albus is also a CP candidate who managed to split his support from around 100% to 51% in just three days and achieved it only by his words! However you look at it, it is impressive and something to learn from.



I am sure that one can play eRep for four or more years and meet only small portion of total player community in eRep. Players come and go, some return, some don't. So let's say that you have around 3-4 thousand players on your friend list. Let's also assume that you have met approximately the same number of players which you don't consider your friends. All those players combined make less than 7% of all eRep players currently and that means there are more than 93% of players you may not even heard about. When two or more communities meet and propose their representatives in their government, usually they propose well known, prominent players, known in their community. The fact is that the other community will not recognize any or at least the most of other community's representatives. At least not until they get to know them. That's why I'd suggest to also include a short resume for each representative for everyone to see their former accomplishments.

Personally, I came here to help and learn more about Cuba, Cubans, Hispanic culture and language. Beside some luck and a quick finger, that's the main reason I am here. And I believe that applies for many other eCuban citizens.
I also believe that for someone it could be hard to believe that.

eRep and PTOs

Because I am sure that every new or young or just a small country in eRepublik is horrified by the possibility to get PTOed. And especially by the players from the Balkans region, being those Serbs, Romanians, Greeks, Croats or any other (ethnic) group. Some of eRep nations are quite notorious for PTOs, some even proud of it.

How is eCuba different? Well, it depends. This is the first time to get a combination of some randomness in CS selection process beside the proven connection for the certain nationality. And it's less likely that majority of all randomly selected people from over 5000 players are PTOers.

On the other hand, fear is everywhere the same. People are afraid of what they don't know. We don't know what to expect from people we don't know. Getting to know people who are different from us takes time and effort. And language is just another such barrier. Handling this uncertainty and dealing with fear is what makes the difference. Between caution and paranoia there is a thin line.



Putting all non-hispanic players in the same basket could make it easier for someone to feel safer. Unfortunately, that's far from the best way, and it's not even a good way. Usually, in the long term it's the worst way. It's bad because it divides people and it's splitting their strength in two. It's easier to conquer people when they are divided.

Perhaps some of you remember;
United we stand, divided we fall.

Will eCubans pass this test?

My personal view on the election results

Finally, there is another important issue; Multy-accounts. Personally, I don't like injustice and using multi-accounts and rigging elections I consider as great injustice, both in RL and in eRep.

Also, I am not surprised if multi-accounting was present on the CP elections. I would be more surprised if such a phenomenon didn't manifest. Actually, I am surprised that it was present in such a small rate.



Personally, I was a bit disappointed with both CP candidates' government team members menu as they were mainly one-sided so I was thinking for a long time should I vote at all or should I pass this. As I felt that my civic duty is to vote, I finally voted early in the morning on the next day, only a couple of hours before the voting closed.



Final official results are not that much different from these. So if heavy multying of over 100 reported multyis occured as luisluisluis has reported in his article, I am surprised that results were not much different and that the difference between candidates' vote ratings have not been significantly higher. Also if there was some heavy multying, I am also surprised that there were not so many votes subtracted. So I hardly believe that heavy multying occured as I've seen much worse elections in eCroatia and perhaps eSerbia. I also seriously doubt that the admins have 100% accurate method of detecting if an account is a multy-account or not. Actually, I am certain they don't. I would be happy if they did. So it seems to me that the admins only made sure that a group of players from the "wrong country" doesn't win the elections already on their first try. Please, reassure me.

Advice

Here is some advice; learn foreign languages, meet people and communicate, you may be surprised to see your own prejudices decrease or disappear.

Also, think for yourself, don't take everything you hear for granted, even your party leaders or any other politically influential figure could be wrong themselves or could be even trying to manipulate you.



And after all we are all human, we all make mistakes and it is human to be erroneous. Just, don't let that happen too easy, too often and too much. The same applies to the congress members as well as country presidents. You are not here for your own sake, but for all the eCubans. Keep that in mind.
