Interview with UKRP President; Certacito
Gavin C. Mister
Question 1
Why do you think people should vote for your party instead of TRS or TUP?
Certacito:
The UKRP has always stood as the sensible and reliable party - and has proven itself to be the party least likely to fragment and decapitate itself. It is also the Party of Government; I believe that we have supplied more Country Presidents and Government Ministers than any other party. Our members tend to be loyal and hard working - quietly getting on with running things without broadcasting to the World about how cool or active we are. Whilst we may not attract the louder and more colourful members of our vibrant eUK society, our members DO represent the backbone of the Nation.
Question 2
How do you plan to come back this upcoming election (congress)?
Certacito:
Dropping a position in the eUK Party rankings was an unwelcome start to the current term in Congress. There is little doubt that there is a direct linkage between the noise that a party makes and the popular vote received. This coming election we will be a little more vocal, with the emphasis being placed upon introducing the Party membership to the rest of the eUK electorate. We will be placing special emphasis on getting support from the non-political group of non-aligned voters.
Question 3
If Huey lost his next CP and we saw an AMD presidency, would you and your party support AMD or support your own candidate?
Certacito:
The UKRP will always support the democratically elected Government. Should Huey be forced to take a break from the outstanding job that he has been doing, administering the eUK with care and diligence, then we will do our best to maintain that things continue to run smoothly with the new administration.
Question 4
Do you have any presidential ambitions yourself?
Certacito:
No. I understand how much time and effort is required to do a good job in the role as Country President; I simply do not have what the job requires. I am happy to do what I can in the role of Party President - and to assist in Government as required.
Question 5
What priorities do you and your party have for the eUK?
Certacito:
Keeping the eUK as an efficient and rewarding Nation in which both native citizen and incomers from other countries can coexist together in a rewarding manner. Whilst the eUK may not be the strongest or wealthiest Nation within the eRepublik ecosystem, we do currently enjoy the respect of most other Countries - and I am keen that we should maintain this by continuing to act is a responsible and trustworthy manner.
Question 6
What is your opinion on TRS?
Certacito:
Without doubt, the meteoric rise of TRS within the eUK scene has given the eUK political scene a much needed burst of energy - which will certainly lead to increased activity. However, I am not totally comfortable about some of the methods used for political ends, particularly the 'We are great - everyone else is rubbish' style of politics that we have seen the TRS using. Over the last couple of months a load of things have been said that are unwelcome and unnecessary; I look forward to getting normal standards of communication restored.
After certacito awnsered the questions he added something at the bottom that I thought he would have liked to share to people, I hope you dont mind me adding this;
Certacito:
One thing that I really do object to is the use of Government positions for Party Political ends; in this respect I am strongly in favour of the post of Speaker remaining as a NEUTRAL appointment (in the manner in which Sir Humphrey Appleton operated), rather than the current way that they role is being conducted in a very partisan manner. I wish to operate in a political environment where interaction is encouraged rather than shouted down!
True Words never spoken clearer in the favor of non-parisianship
Comments
An excellent interview and Certacito made some good and salient points.
Keep up the good work!
Good interview, Certacito. I certainly agree with your closing remarks too.

Always nice to read an interview and I'm sure the fact checkers will welcome the extra work
And needless to say my speakership is a paragon of non-partisanship - no member goes ignored \o/
There is a considerable difference between operating with impartiality and reacting to input from members of Congress.
What I would like to see is that the role of Speaker is operated in a neutral and impartial way - rather than one where political bias is clearly visible.
I will positively engage with and eagerly await any evidence of actions I've undertaken in the role of speaker being informed by any political bias - I discharge my duties with total blindness to party 🥳
Blindness! Excellent one word summary!
You do it then.
The fact is the speaker has always had a say as an active member of Congress.
I feel as long as he is unbiased in the reporting of the votes and allowing every member an opportunity to speak then he is acting with full integrity and honour.
It’s very easy to criticise, be the change you want to see and provide us an alternative model.
Very good interview keep it up.
v + c + e
I’m not sure how UKRP can claim to be the backbone of the country, spines usually consist of more than 5 vertebrates
This is some really impressive necomancy. Can I send over a resurrection request list please.
No
Love 2 be accused of saying 'we are great - everyone else is rubbish' by the establishment that has elected the same CP 28 million times in a row without so much as a manifesto (until TRS forced them into activity)
Not sure what your point is here.
There is little point in producing a manifesto unless an election is contested.
Over the past year or so the electorate of eUK have been quite happy with the performance of our dedicated and hard working Huey. Normally the motivation for an election comes with dissatisfaction with the performance of the incumbent. Are you saying that there is something about Huey's performance that you are unhappy with?
My point is why are you having a go at TRS peeps for doing nothing but try to play the game that you've had stitched up for the last god knows how long. The only ones I've seen be remotely negative is people upset that they might have to actually /do/ something
Got nothing against Huey personally, but perhaps 36 CP terms is enough for one person
Hello Adda!
Apples! o/
This is a very good article RFK is always brilliant at asking the right questions.
Just on the speaker remarks aren’t you the guy who deleted the congress thread and so missed lots of votes and then tried to blame that on the speaker 😂
Did I delete the Congress thread?
Why would I do that - it would be totally out of character for me to do so.
For whatever reason (and we do not know what happened to cause the event) - I did become disconnected from the Congress feed mid-way through the term.
I have no idea what happened - and as I am not know for indulging in drugs or excessive amounts of alcohol which might blur my judgement, I am pretty sure that the cause of my outage was self-inflicted. It *does* require a little thought and effort to leave a live feed - and I certainly did not make a conscious decision to do so.
That a few individuals appear to have convinced themselves that the whole sad episode was the output of a malicious plot is unfortunate - and reflects badly on the individuals who keep on coming back to this.
Remember that both in RW UK and in eUK societies, the accused is innocent until proven guilty!
I reckon a wizard did it…
But Speaking of the accused being innocent until proven guilty.
Where is the evidence that the speaker is biased?
Still waiting for an example of bias…
If you can’t provide one perhaps you’d like to change your response?
Sorry to nag, but you have made an allegation could you please send me that evidence.
LOL
“ Over the last couple of months a load of things have been said that are unwelcome and unnecessary; I look forward to getting normal standards of communication restored”
You’re one of the worst at this certa. You’ve been unnecessarily negative and quite frankly rude especially in my first CP attempt.
Once again, because it won’t seem to be enough, BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE
Preach it AMD. Notable ofc that no TRS member who has given an interview to this exceptional paper has felt the need to talk about other parties.
Great interview with enough subtle digs in the replies one has to wonder whether he's dug a hole right the way through to New Zealand?
Good journalism. The answers are a bit weird though!
I agree with Sir Humphrey Appleton
Another good interview RFK, which highlights a very different negative and backward way in UKRP. Can't wait to see your interview with Strahinjic lll
I don't think he is portrayed in a negative light perhaps to you it is negative but to many others it is a truthful light
