Een goede democratie

Beste Enederlanders,

Tot mijn schrik zie ik dat er nog maar één persoon zich heeft beschikbaar gesteld als president kandidaat voor ons prachtige land.

Hoe mooi de uitslagen dan ook waren voor de meeste partij bij de laatste congres verkiezingen. Lijkt het mij niet de bedoeling dat we vervolgens onze president niet meer democratisch kiezen.

Ik roep dan ook alle partijen op om een kandidaat naar voren te schuiven zodat wij onze democratie beschermen en de winnaar van deze verkiezing ook echt democratisch word verkozen door onze bevolking.

Op dit moment lijkt het er namelijk op dat deze rechtstreeks benoemd zal gaan worden omdat er geen tegenstanders zijn.

Dear EDutch,

I am shocked to see that only one person has made himself available as a presidential candidate for our beautiful country.

No matter how good the results were for most parties in the last congressional elections. It does not seem to me the intention that we then no longer elect our president democratically.

I therefore call on all parties to put forward a candidate so that we protect our democracy and that the winner of this election is democratically elected by our people.

At the moment it seems that the only candidate avialable will be appointed directly as our president because there are no opponents.

Last month we had two candidates, but one of them was inactive, so that does not count. The last serious elections with two active candidates were at September and October 2018.

Being President is no easy job, and just year ago, it was difficult to even find candidates to run, so elections are not totally empty. These days, candidates actually run willingly, so that is atleast a small improvement.

Speaking about parties supporting - GPN has not supported any candidate for a long time. And I am sure the current candidate would like your support 🙂 .

A pity to hear that the last real election was so long ago. But keeping both our country active and manageable, it is of great importance to democratically choose the leader of our country.
In addition, the political choice that GPN makes is not up to me but to the party leader.
