Did I Do That?

A Misclick: The Initial

Did you know that it wasn't supposed to happen? But sometimes, destiny seems to set things in motion. But that's a hell of a couple sentences, ain't it?

With USA giving up regions like flapjacks at the local IHOP (sorry, Europe, you won't get this reference), it was obvious that CoT's focus was not on the Americas. Equally obvious, though, was that America wasn't simply going to keel over and get wiped. Everyone knew that they were going to fight back. It was simply a matter of when. Well, now's as good a time as any. Mexico surprised many by declaring war on Poland, in an attempt to assist America and free the Americans at long last. What was surprising wasn't so much that Mexico did such a thing, it was the timing; at the moment, there's still lots of damage being sent to Italy in the campaigns there. The attack may have been called a couple days sooner than optimal. But Mexico's move makes sense, at the basic level. This is where it gets interesting.

A Misclick: The Repercussions

That's right, a part 2! You know it's important now! The funny thing is, Mexico's proposal, though looking extremely favorable in the beginning, has had a sudden swarm of down votes, so it's looking likely that it was simply a false alarm. But a nation that quickly recoiled was Spain. Claiming loyalty to Spoland, Spain has countered Mexico's NE proposal on Poland, incinerating any Spain-ROLA sentiment that still existed. To a certain extent, it's as if Spain was simply looking for a reason to end that relationship and reaffirm their loyalty to Spoland, if not TWO as a whole. Even after the Mexicans slowly backed down from their aggressive move, Spain has taken no prisoners, appearing to be fully committed to the attack anyway. Brazil also has an MPP with Spain instead of with Mexico. The shift in power has begun...

Carnage in Italy

With TWO’s weakest empire, the ACT Lithuanian Empire defeated, or at least broken down to size, the next easiest target was Slovenia, and thus, taking advantage of the loose soil in Serbia, the French and Italian have lead the charge against the Slovenians. Croatia has been the linchpin holding the invasion together, however, keeping the initiative and preventing Slovenia from taking advantage of victories in the other fronts. Thanks to some neat RWing, Serbia is blocked off from chasing Croatia, in a sweet taste of irony, by the Slovenians themselves. Deceptively, Italy themselves have not taken much land, only winning Campania from Slovenian occupations. France has had slightly more luck, taking Piedmont and Lombardy, but of course, the Croats have been the true force behind the liberation. In the north, Switzerland is slowly retaking its land as well, while Austrians are being forcefed their land back. If Croatia gets Slovenia fully out of Italy, they’ll still have the open border, and it’s likely that Croatia will try to bend back over and beat up Slovenia. But the other nations will be free to help in other ways. It’ll be interesting to see who moves where and what is in store.

Not This Again

Hungary’s defeat has left it steaming for revenge. And you know what means. The Hungarians have occupied nearly all of Ukraine, using them as the stepping stone to defeat Russia. For all advocates of CoT, this spells trouble, as the last time Hungary had the audacity to break into Asia, it was not pretty not just for Russia, but for the whole alliance. With America busy with Poland and Russia being the gateway, a defeat could spell trouble for the whole alliance again. Ukraine and Russia are already planning their attacks against Russia after the initial wave, and barring interference from China, CoT will have to hold off the Hungarians in Russia.

If You Love Someone...

Bulgaria has fully integrated into Scandinavia, or at least as well as it can. Obviously, no home regions, and occupying an ally is never the most ideal thing, but it works out relatively well. Bulgaria pays a good chunk of change, and helps protect Norway and the rest of Scandinavia from invasion. However, there’s never any fairy tale ending, is there? The Romanians that Bulgaria duped in order to get into Scandinavia in the first place have come with zealous fervor to fix their error, and take down the Bulgarians. Yes, they’ve planned an airstrike into Bulgaria. With Sweden and Finland already fighting wars, and Norway relatively weak, it’ll be interesting to see how much help Bulgaria gets. But one thing’s for sure: the airstrike will be intense.

(This was written for Mary-chan ♥ so she can catch up on world affairs :3)

Until next time, take care!
