Debate

Welcome to the January 2024 CP Debate between Coalition Nominee Huey George and BEP Candidate Militarista. This Election will be different from the others in previous month due to the fact that the Spam party has produced no candidate and thus will be considered almost a swing vote in the election

I would like to apologize for the timing of this, i ussually post on the 4th but i was a little late to make contact with the canidates and so it will be posted today

Please Welcome the canidates as we start the Debate

Question 1
If elected CP what will be your first priority?

Militarista
The priority should be national healing. We come from times of frankly sterile polarization that has worn out not only the citizenry but also its interprets. I think the new year offers a chance for a fresh start, and try all together to erase a problematic past of polemics for polemics' sake. We need a “detox”, just as like the meals of the festive period. The energy of the community and its best talents - that are supposed to seat in Congress - should go to fun and mutual growth, not be wasted in partisan opposition. The Civil War needs to end.

Huey
It's challenging to pinpoint a singular top priority due to the multifaceted nature of governance, the heart of my focus will undeniably be the people of the UK. Every citizen's feelings, experiences, thoughts, and even grievances will be heard and valued under my leadership.

Recognising the richness of diverse viewpoints as a valuable asset, I aim to represent all equally. Embracing the various playstyles within the UK, I will engage with the citizens in a manner that resonates with their preferences with fairness

Understanding that the UK requires time and patience to heal, I commit to being a compassionate and patient leader. I will not seek quick fixes that may not garner unanimous support, my approach will remain one of thoughtful consideration and collaboration. Regardless of the election outcome, I am open to working with my opponent, as he has presented well-thought-out ideas that warrant attention.

Question 2
What would you say to a swing voter unsure of who to vote for?

Huey
To a swing voter grappling with the decision of who to vote for, I would emphasise the importance of reviewing policies and manifestos. Evaluating the experience, account strength, and track record of each candidate can be useful in making an informed choice. While it may seem a bit critical of my opponent, my intent is not to be harsh. Rather, I believe that the dedication I've poured into both my account and the betterment of the UK serves as a testament to my commitment to its success.

Acknowledging that our policies and manifestos may be evenly matched, I recognise the difficulty in making a final decision. In such a scenario, I would suggest considering the option of leaving it to chance—perhaps, tossing a coin. I've already expressed my willingness to collaborate with my opponent by agreeing to be part of his cabinet. This commitment underscores my dedication to a collaborative approach, demonstrating that, regardless of the election outcome, I am ready to continue to contribute my time and support for the greater good of the UK

Militirisa
First of all, thanks for even considering the choice. For too long, I fear, vote would univocally reflect ones party affiliation. I believe we should choose the candidate and the ideas over the badge he or she wears. I know a time will return in which this should be the only criterion for a decision so crucial: the manifesto, the expertise and the vibes. On these evaluations, voting my opponent would be perfectly fine if this are the elements you are considering. I say the same: do not vote for me only because you “hate” the other half, or you are a fellow BEP member, otherwise my campaign would be pointless.

Question 3
How is your leadership different from your opponents?

Militirisa
You might have got a glimpse of it from the previous answers. I want to stress that there are not “enemies”, only “competitors”, and that I fully respect the other candidate and his brilliant curriculum. I think, in this peculiar race, being a new entry of British Politics, and of eBritain as well, might have given me a sort of immunity from ages of political acrimony, for which I do not absolutely consider one single individual responsible. I intend to spend this exception to foster a new normality, in which players from different parties cooperate and work together across the spectrum when they want and are not prevented to do so by ancient feuds.

Huey
Distinguishing my leadership from that of my opponent is challenging, given the limited opportunity to observe his style. However, I can highlight a key aspect of my approach. I am committed to promoting positivity and constructive engagement in the face of negativity.

Question 4
What is one unique policy you would like to present as CP?

Huey
One unique policy I would like to present as CP is a comprehensive strategy that combines player support, economic activities, and the growth of military and aircraft ranks. While addressing the critical issue of national divide, I emphasise the need for a nuanced approach that does not compromise our standing on the global stage. In essence, my unique policy aims to balance domestic priorities with the complexities of the world, ensuring that we not only bridge divides within our nation but also maintain a strong and influential presence internationally.

Militirisa
I may sound repetitive, but my main reform would be the hardest ever: social. We should make the eUK a safe space again. The unforgivable side effect of a toxic environment is that it alienates new players, and also wards off historical ones. In eItaly, long time ago, candidates used to promise a “Baby Boom”, that is to expand the community. We live an age of demographic retreat: I am convinced we should at least try our best to keep the few news citizens that pop up. On the other hand, the formidable reception I was given being a former stranger here is reassuring. In two-three months I found myself in Parliament and even running a presidential campaign. It does not matter how it ends, if it will show that the real “miracle” was not beating a sitting CP, but reminding you all what's the core of our presence here.

I would like to thank the canidates for their responses, and their well wishes to each other at the end which was very touching to see, this is goin got be an interesting election and thank you for reading as always

Good luck to both of the canidates and do not forget to vote
