Congressional Update

Day 1,517, 21:27 Published in Canada Canada by Muglack

Hello eCanada,

I'm writing this article so that you can all get caught up on what has happened in Congress V2 in the past 7 days.

Since it was our first meeting and we wanted to get as much done as possible we got down to work right away.

Don't let the picture fool you, there's not nearly that many of us but this picture was taken on "Bring your entire family and your neighbour's entire family to work Day"

The first order of business was to elect a Speaker. As we all know, Congress can't work without a Speaker. It is an essential part of the Congressional/Parlamentary process.

After 7 rounds of voting, and extremely hard foughts debate we eventually reached a Unaninmous vote of 2-0 for Wally.

Congratulations Mr. Cleaver. Serve your country well.

HELLO NURSE!

After the speaker selection was made we moved on to the next bit of business. Writing a Constitution. As the failure of a government body Congress V1 has shown, Constitutions and laws don't really work when they're overly complicated. So after hours of endless back and forth Congress V2 has solved the issue.

I give you eCanada's new constitution:

It's quick, easy and simple. It's everything a man needs in a woman, errr, Constitution

Next we tackled the biggest bane to the roleplay side of this game. The Supreme Court. People have known for years that as an institution the Supreme Court is completely useless, and while great on paper is completely without use in the day to day functioning of the game. So we have decided to abolish it, and replace it with a more standardized system.

You're fate's in their poo-flinging hands now

The last thing we dealt with this week was in resposne to something Congress V1 did. They have actually done something worthwhile and started a Mentor program. I applaud your efforts, even if the end result falls well short of the mark for being usefull.

Seeing Congress V1 fail again gave us an idea. Why not pick up where they inevitably always fall down. So taking advantage of the situation we quickly passed Legislation starting our own Mentor program.

Come my child. You too can learn the ways of the Dark side of the Force.

Thanks for taking the time to get caught up on the inner workings of your eCanadian government.

We'll see you against next Sunday!
