Can't we all just get along?

It's easy to judge people by the comments they post on articles, but these are rarely accurate portrayals of the people behind them. It's easy to get heated in discussions about things we care about, so we can all at least be happy that so many of us care so deeply about our little eNation. But it becomes hard for our society to function when the divisions are so deep.
It's easy to try and blame it on a vocal minority making things worse for everyone, but we must all take responsibility for our internal conflict. We all let personal attacks, smears, and insulting language go unchecked even if we are not contributing to it.
We too often follow the pack, no matter where it's leading us...
Things have not gone perfectly in the last few days, but on the other hand we have been more ambitious recently than we have for ages, and it has revitalised our population.
I personally like to think I have good relations with most people I come across in the eUK. I am found on IRC channels across the political spectrum, and in doing so I have found that, once I had a proper conversation with them, people I had previously disliked were actually decent people. We all are.
This time of year, if any, is the time for comradeship and good will.
Think of ZombieJesus, think of when the three wise(?) Woldys visited baby Boblo. Don't ruin it for them. Lets make an actual effort to spread some goodwill. I propose EDIT: nothing, because no-one wants to have fun 🙂

"I personally like to think I have good relations with most people", I can't speak for everyone, but you've always come across to me as a genuinely nice person, Who , sadly unlike myself, is far above this petty divide that has formed.
The best way to bring people together and to make everyone realise we are all nice underneath all this political game playing is simple... like you said yourself. Communication. That is all that is needed. Once you start to talk you start to understand and the persona that's put forward drops away to show a more honest, open and caring person that is underneath it all.
We get carried away sometimes. It's good to have reminders like this great article \o/

BigAnt and Aces man, I have no political agenda in this article, I have not 'actively worked to increase the divide'. I have different opinions to you, but I haven't tried to be divisive. I have no reason to. I am seriously baffled as to why you have to bring your skepticism to this article, which is nothing more than a suggestion that we try and get along a bit better. If this article is a pretence, how the hell woud it benefit me in anyway?

The best way to get along is to ignore the ones who make stupid comments, they are all attention seekers and i think if you don't respond to them they will get bored and either stop making troll comments or stop making comments at all. DON'T RISE TO THE BAIT, IGNORE THEM.
