Around the World in 60 seconds : Day 1,016

Day 1,016, 18:07 Published in USA Albania by Roger Griswald

Todays highlights:
- eUk and eFrance find victory in 4 regions vs. eCanada
- eSouth Africa’s regions swapped at the will of eHungary and eBrazil
- ePakistan find aid in eIndia as the eNation tries to rebuild itself
- eHungary faces attacks on three of its regions as eRepublic of Moldova seeks its regions back
- an update is provided regarding the status of the eWorld’s high titanium regions

Quote(s) of the Day:

“Sindh is Serbian! Holy Serbian land! you will fail like last time…” – 1312 (responding to eIndia's attack on eSerbia)
“Last time I saw holy Serb land was in the bottom of my latrine 😮)” – kiwifire1

eCanada

Yesterday, eUk and eFrance retreated from the battle launched by eCanada (Wales, Scotland, Brittany and Pays de la Loire) only to re-attack at a more favourable time for the eNations. Today, eCanada suffered losses in all of those battles, unable to muster enough forces, due to the battles finishing in the early afternoon on a mid-week day.

As for the next battle in the war, it is expected that eUK will launch an attack on Northern Ireland later this week. Should the eNation find success, the eUK would have successfully reclaimed all of its regions taken by eCanada. It is also expected that eFrance will resume region swapping with eUK, thus returning the two British regions it still holds (North East of England and Yorkshire & Humberside).

eSouth Africa

Today, eBrazil and eHungary finished their region swapping exercises in eSouth Africa (eSA). eHungary, who currently controls eSA (through a PTO), has allowed eBrazil to control the high titanium resource region of Gauteng. As previously mentioned the agreement authorized by Phoenix will be in effect until October 31, 2010.

ePakistan

As part the ongoing plans of eIndia to help rebuild its former superpower neighbor: ePakistan, the eNation has allowed a training war to take place in the formerly ePakistani-controlled region of North-West Frontier Province.

eHungary

Today, eHungary came under attack from the allied forces of eRomania and eRepublik of Moldova. In a bid to reclaim its former regions, the eRepublic of Moldova launched resistance wars against the eHungarian occupation in Transnistria and Northern Basarabia. Helping to deflect eHungarian forces, eRomania launched an attack against the eHungarian region of Northern Great Plain.

All of the battles are slated to wrap up tomorrow around 12:00 eRep time.

Titanium : the war for control

Since the launch of eRepublik version 2 (V2), titanium has become an incredibly valuable resource. As titanium is now needed for the production of artillery and air units, an eNation will not see success on the battlefield without access to titanium. As this resources is the eWorld’s most rare, with 16 regions (out of 621) containing the resource and only 9 containing it in high levels. It is for this reason that over the last two months, and particularly the last 2 weeks, the two major alliances (Phoenix and Brolliance supported EDEN) have been focusing the majority of their efforts towards controlling regions of the world with high titanium levels.

Below is a listing of the eWorld high-titanium resource regions, along with which eNation originally controlled the region, which eNation currently controls the region and to which alliance the eNation who currently controls the region is a member.

* Indicates that the eNation was an EDEN/Brolliance member-nation, but has been PTOed by a Phoenix member-nation.

[Thanks to hb741 for suggesting that I provide a quick run-down of who controls each high-titanium region - good idea]
