An Reply from the Fox

Day 2,211, 09:23 Published in Canada Canada by Foxfire

Well this is a different start to my Monday morning.

Per Wingfield’s article, here are my reponse

What does the Fox have to say to true party members?

That’s a loaded term ‘true party members’. I think we have new party members and old party members. Players who are here to enjoy the game and players who are here to enjoy diminishing the game. There are systems in place provided by eRepublik for reporting inappropriate behavior.

How can he bring us to redemption and glory?

I don’t believe Clan Wolf has anything it needs to redeem itself for (Chickenman!). I believe that the party can and should look to its core values and by supporting other players we achieve our own glory.

What does the Fox have to say to the PTOers?

Recent days have seen more trolling than PTOing. I’ve rarely seen truly effective PTOers announce themselves two weeks before they attempt a PTO. Maybe it’s a radical new tactic.

There are some new individuals in the party and I am aware they are regarded with skepticism.

Toad has been an interesting PP. A bit of a balance of everything, which has also brought about a great deal of new activity. I think he knows that he could have done more, but I think he also had the wind taken out of him from a rocky start and less support then he thought he would have. I know he’s been seeking a position of true leadership for some time. I think he is capable of it and I hope that one day he achieves what I believe he is capable of.

Pat is a former CW. He started in Canada in CW for several months before he moved on to MDP and started his own MU. Pat is a gifted eRepublik player and one of the few CPs who struck a perfect balance between politics and warfare. Something that is not easy to do. I have consistently asked him to run for CP again. I am aware of his recent actions. If that is the direction he currently wishes to pursue, that is his purgative. I’d advise seeking respect, not attention. It lasts longer.

Regardless, I do not see either of these individuals as active PTOers.

Will he convince them to be nice and just leave?

Everyone plays how they wish to play. If they create something positive, they will generally be met with positivity. Likewise if they create negativity, their experience will be negative. Rarely can a person outrun that which they put out into the world.

What does the Fox have to say to other true Clan Wolf members who are running for the top job in the party?

Good luck. If you need anything, please let me know.

Can he give us a genuine reason for standing aside and running another time?

If I am not blocking someone else’s shot at PP, I will run. If someone else really wants it, I will stand aside and support them. If you wish to run for PP, please do so and know you will have my full support.

What does the Fox have to say to the rest of eCanada?

Hello. o7

Why is he the man not just for Clan Wolf but for all of us?

Clan Wolf is an ideal. That eRepublik is a game to be enjoyed. That players can be and should be support to the best of the party’s abilities to help them achieve whatever positive goal they wish to achieve. That you can have fun, and that fun doesn’t have to be at the expense of someone else. To me Clan Wolf in its purest form is a support network first.

It’s probably not a coincidence that in trying to hold true to the best of the game that we in turn also become targets for some of the worst. Trolling. PTO attempts. Hate filled attacks. This is a free browser game and in no way should there be the expectations that we figure out why some people enjoy building sand castles and some people enjoy kicking them down.

It should also not be so ironic that the very tools to overcome these adversities are likewise easily obtainable. Trolling and attacks do not need to be engaged. A well organized and dedicated group will overcome PTO attacks. Most importantly, the realization that you can work with those you don’t get along with. That last one is the most important for me because that is a skill that I learned here in-game (painfully and with time) and have used outside of game. Something that I think the world would just be a better place for if more people practised it.

It is better to fail aiming high, then to succeed aiming low. Set your sights so high that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.

For those that know me I have wished for and tried for a united Canada in the subtle manner in which I deemed the best approach. It has always confused me that there is very little team mentality in our nation. The infighting is so profound that we don’t need enemies external to our country. We are our own worst enemy and no one can defeat us as well as we defeat ourselves. In many ways this is why Clan Wolf has been so open to work with other parties. In the hopes that one day teamwork will supersede political affiliations. That the nation is greater than the sum of its political parts.

I can appreciate the animosities that come with someone tearing down that which you have built or attempted to build. That is human nature. Yet our reality is such that this game has less mechanical parts as a free browser game than Farmville. So why the anger? Small children play together better than the grown men I know to play this game. It’s almost as if the long standing personal feuds have perpetuated the continued activity, not the enjoyment of the game. That’s sincerely sad.

I will continue to hope for and work towards a different reality. One where we recognize that this is a game and we are losing at that game. That we can do better. That we as a nation are destined for far better than that which we have realized before and we are the only barrier to that destiny.
