A Merry-Go-Round of a War

Day 1,005, 18:23 Published in Canada Canada by Armour144

After a quick assault into the UK by eCanada in the first weeks of the war, it has now ground to a virtual stalemate. It took a week from the time that eCanada took Scotland for the UK to finally start getting its act together and try to use time zones to its advantage.

eCanada had long been launching attacks at 10pm EST, and despite the UK’s numerous MPP’s with some of eRepublik’s most powerful nations, eCanada quickly captured everything in sight. However, the British appear to have finally understood just why they are consistently losing, and have started retreating battles only to re-attack them when the timing is more suitable for their people.

Now this strategy seems to have excited all of the trolls of the UK, as recently they have exploded into a fury of “eCanada is running out of gold!” and “eCanada’s war has been a waste and has gained nothing.” They noticed our “Peace Proposals” to the UK and France, taking it as a sign that our vast treasury is running dry and we are desperate for peace.

Lol.

Sadly for the UK, none of that is really true. Those supposed “peace proposals” are not really asking for peace, but preventing the enemy from using the gold in their treasury that we asked for in the peace proposal. Really it is a type of economic warfare, however we are not actually removing any gold, just preventing them from using it for 24 hours or so.

Among the spam in the British media are articles claiming that eCanada has gained nothing and that they, along with eFrance, will reclaim all of their lost land.

While they have started winning some battles (using time zones to their advantage), they aren’t actually making any gains. Take earlier today for example. We attacked Lower Normandy and East Midlands. France retreated both of these battles, giving us the regions. France and the UK have now launched attacks on both of those regions.

Even if we lose those battles, we haven’t actually lost anything.

Well, if you want to get technical, we have lost some gold, but the enemy spent just as much as we did. This war has turned into a Merry-Go-Round, with no real end in sight.

What Will It Take to Win?

4 letters answers this: EDEN. As I said, even if we lose those battles we break even, so what if we were to win those battles? Most of EDEN is in Europe, so their troops could win those battles for us. With EDEN soldiers at our backs we could continue gaining one or two regions per day, allowing us to launch the inevitable strike on London that everyone is eagerly awaiting.

I admit that the UK has finally started doing something that is making this a war as opposed to a leisurely jog through the British grasslands. They brought France in to help them, but France should be weary. Bordering Canada, the US, Spain, and Poland (with a quick territory swap), they should really be feeling as secure as the British.

So on a final note to all eCanadians who are feeling demoralized by the recent stalemate in our war, just keep in mind that a bit over a week ago the British held 15 regions.

They now have 4.
