Would you complain if it was the European / World Championship or the fact we have the F1 in Zandvoort too (which costs, especially the first, like a hundred-fold as opposed to the few million of ESF)? 😛

Oh by the way: NoTie where did you read F1 costs hundreds of mil €? At least hundred-folds of the few mill = several hundreds in my book so I'm wondering?

Yeah I was more referring too WC, but I read a while back bringing F1 back to Zandvoort and preparing it again for proper use (and poor infastructure in the region) will cost a fair bit too.

Ah WC. Yeah that's indeed very expensive. F1 ain't indeed. From what I know roughly 45 mil of investments need to be done.

EC or WC costs a lot, and brings with it idiotic rules and exemptions from and for fifa.

F1 isn't getting gov funding.

ESF directly or indirectly will be payed by taxpayer money. and they have already started lobbying for money.

tax exemptions for fifa and sponsors. laws that require changing. swift courts to jail/fine anybody doing something not liked by fifa. remember the bavaria incident in 2010?

that's an issue yes. get some sponsors or let the commercial stations handle it.

With the current fuss about tax exemptions I doubt that will happen. And swifter handling of hooligans ain’t soemething I would be against 😉

Assen is for TT, should stick to it. Making changes for F1 would ruin the TT track. Besides that Zandvoort is a way better/more challenging track (drove several times on both) and Zandvoort is also more environmently friendly. Will likely be 2nd or even 1st when it comes to that for the entire F1 calendar...

I believe public organizations broadcast ESF for years already so handing it to commercial ones now would be strange to say the least. I suspect it will, like F1, be supported by private fundings in the end but this one might indeed also get public funding as its called cultural. But that’s under a budget for whole NL so replacing something else...

that might be the case, but zandvoort will be a logistical nightmare. i'm considering going but i don't look forward to sitting stuck in traffic for half a day getting to and from the circuit.

so more money to cultural things and once again let's do cuts in military and healthcare.

I expect there would be a budget establishes by the broadcasters to host ESC, 3 broadcasters but with the reports by hosting countries ESC actually brought a profit for example Kyiv had a profit of €5 million

The great thing about F1 in Zandvoort is that Verstappen will win it.

Don't worry about the ESF, It'll likely be a mixed investment from both private and public, the latter of which will be paid out of the culture budget. Also if it goes to Arnhem, the Province will be able to jump in and spend some of that surplus, so hey, it's not that bad.

The EC/WC (and Olympics) is, of course, more difficult, it would require some investments, but, realize that any EC and WC and even Olympic bid is a co-bid with Belgium, so the costs are spread.
