Join the new world

Hey everyone,

I was recently appointed the new Commanding Officer of the Ultramarines, and my first act was to create a survey and invite all the UM members to fill it in. I'm pleased to say that 90% of our active membership filled it in and the results are spawning some interesting new plans. This article will cover the results and the basics of the new plans with more to come in the next few days.

Length of Service

As you can see on the first of my graphs, the average UM member has been with us for 6 or more months, with only a small 20% of our active members having joined since then. Some of our plans outlined below will, combined, help increase our recruitment rate and make UM more known to the people.





Which of the following do you like most about UM?

This question was asking them to rank 3 choices in order of preference. As you can see, a majority of people like the supply methods best - UM offers some of the best supplies in the eUSA and uses a quick and easy IRC system to request and track your supplies. The least favourite option was the lax structure and ranks, which is something we're planning to change soon.





How easy is/was it to...

Next I asked how easy it was to perform specific tasks in UM, such as joining or accessing the information needed. Although the majority of soldiers found it easy or very easy to perform most of the tasks, 30% found it difficult to join the UM, meaning that we are going to look at creating a new system for joining UM to make it easier and more efficient.





Which of the following would you like implemented?

This question was to get an idea of what changes I would like to implement would be welcomed, I also added some other suggestions in. By far the most popular was community competitions, something I am planning to start from next week. We will also be doing a restructure of our regiments, updating all the Wiki pages and forums so that the information is up-to-date and easier to find. We will also be looking at ways to get more contact with other branches.





Other plans

Although only a small percent of the soldiers chose the options such as "Military Ranks" and "More ranks for advancement" - we are going to look at incorporating these changes into the regimental restructuring and use it as a way to make contact with more branches. The exact details are not yet planned but should be done and ready to implement by Monday.
