[UKGov] UK Today Day 1405

THE NEWS
Welcome to the latest edition of UK Today.
First, it's competition time- if anyone can come up with an image banner for UK Today that I like better than the current one, not only will it be displayed but you'll get a Q1 house for your trouble!

One aspect of eRepublik that many players enjoy is roleplay. We do, after all, have an eUK Military and an eUK Government in which players can roleplay as soldiers and politicians respectively.
One area of the game that used to have such roleplay but has not of late is business- business owners and investors often used to roleplay in various ways, but changes to the game's economic module meant that this practice subsided somewhat- until now.
Recently an organisation called the 'Trade Federation' has formed, hoping to pick up the mantle of business roleplay and add an extra dimension to the game for some players.
It won't be for everyone, of course, but if this does interest you, one of the TF's co-founders, Titansmash, has written you an explanation, below.
The Trade Federation
The Trade Federation is a Player run, forum based Organization. The Organization started out as a simple thought by the Head Director TitanSmash. TitanSmash wanted to create an environment for players into the roleplaying side of economics, ie running a Company or Corporation. The idea was to find these "Company Owners" and find players who would be willing to invested or loan money, which would allow these companies to grow. By allowing the companies to grow it would increase that players daily income, and it would give investors a chance to get a small or large return on their money.
It works kinda like the saying, "Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to sell fish and he eats steak."
Players who invest or loan give the members the money to create the companies they need, they use those companies to help themselves in the future. The Trade Federation provides business information to help them make more profit.
The Trade Federation doesn't loan or invest in players, its up to players to invest or loan to one another. It works on the honor system as there are no ways to insure that players will uphold there end of the deal. There are rules in place to make sure any player who doesn't hold true to there word will be banned for life from the Trade Federation and branded a Thief.
TitanSmash ask two of his close eRepublik friends Mattyw106 and Dr Rosa if they would support and help in running the organizations. The agreed and they became Co-Directors. The Trade Federation has expanded much from the starting idea, idea such as The Trade Federation Bank, a Trade Federation Military Unit, and possible future operations.
The Trade Federations works closely with the Bank of England, as they do not see the bank as a threat but rather as a helper. As the main goal of The Trade Federation is helping out the citizens of the United Kingdom. To join the Organization is free, there is no charge to use their features.

THE CP's UPDATE:
Another day another battle. Today has been pretty much similar to the last week with major pingpong being played between countries.
Firstly Canada successfully took SWoE off of us. I apologize to the people who were running there since it now looks likely you won’t get in (unless the game bugs). We did try to salvage a win from this region but with Canada attacking through the night it was always going to be unlikely. Canada have attacked West Midlands again but this was done a bit later than usual so we might win that. We’re currently about to lose the first mini but it’s still early days.
Onto the Netherlands, they succeeded in taking East Midlands this afternoon after we continue to ignore them. They have since gone onto attack Yorkshire with us winning 3-1. At the current rate we should only need to delay them a few more minutes to confirm the congress seats in Y&H at least. There is also a RW going on right now in EoE. It is currently 4-3 to us so please go over to NL to fight for the resistance.
Finally, I thought I’d mention Ireland since they are still there and all. You might be wondering why Mayo was hit earlier today. Due to game mechanics the country with the initiative must hit within 24 hours of winning the last battle. I wanted to wait for as long as possible before hitting Ireland again so that it would not screw with our congress more than Canada/NL already have, so that was an auto attack. We’re currently losing pretty heavily, this is because we haven’t been focusing on it at all today and have been busy in EoE and helping our bros Macedonia amongst other allies.
As I mentioned in the report today it is congress elections. Congrats to everyone who gets in tomorrow after the Multi check, I’m looking forward to making that sign in thread tomorrow.
