Well after negations broke down with the Irish Prime Minister in the last few days in which she refusing to give up "united Ireland" and so the British government has decided to take back Northern Ireland by force.
We must thank everyone who moved over to Ireland and fought for the UK, this must have been a lot of you because i am ranked within the top 10 in the UK. So thank you, top ten player me.
We must also thank the Hungarian players and Serbians who won the battle within the last 10 minutes of the battle, we are very grateful because we really didn't want to spend another day there when it is so much better weather here in the UK.
Why did we not open a war
The simple answer is it would have been much more expensive, although it would have been much easier to win the battle instead of battles it would have cost much more to open the war and would have also open a war with the United States of America.
Why was the option not taken to embargo Ireland
You may not know this but the option was seriously considered here in congress. The option was taken not to embargo them as it would take a month to work off and we knew that we would be getting Northern Ireland back soon.
Many players were pushing for a full economic attack on Ireland for not giving back Northern Ireland straight away to maintain good relations. Before this Ireland and the UK have a very friends relationship. This option was also not taken because it would be look very bad and would give Ireland a reason not to live us.
Why was Resistance War the option to take
Taking a region by a resistance war is much better in many ways. It does not open a war that would then have to be shut; this could even be kept open by Ireland for retaliation attacks on the UK. If a war were opened this would be an open war with the USA, which has just been closed.
Were Ireland losing a long and pointless war
Eventually Ireland would have lost Northern Ireland because it originally belonged to the UK, RW could be started every time another ended. The British army forces have been based in Ireland over the past two-day. There are several Royal Navy and other business in Northern Ireland, which many wanted back.

I'm Irish.The President is pro-Eden and proposed that we join Eden but people voted to stay neutral.I think peoples opinions on this issue may have changed now.Mine certainly has

I hope that Ireland doesn't join EDEN, the land originally belonged to us. It belongs to us in RL and you can't get it back there. It belongs to us here.

I thought that eNI was an original eUK region. Wouldn't that mean starting a war with the eIrish and invading eNI wouldn't trigger their MPP's but any retaliatory actions would trigger ours (I'm not advocating war, but I'm confused as to whether then we would have opened the eUS's MPP).

pulled PHX forces from more important battles into norther ireland and pushed a neutral country into the hands of EDEN, while you could have gained their eternal support by granting them a useless region that means the world to them due to RL reasons.

Ruaidhri, Ireland took our region in a region swap with Norway, we were merely reclaiming what is ours. If these two RWs are all it takes to make Ireland join EDEN then it is pretty obvious they were already heading that way.
To say Ireland havent been leaning towards EDEN is a lie, this is shown by the Norway - Ireland region swap, the Training Wars with the US and the recent help Ireland have been getting from Ireland have been getting, defending them from us pesky brits.

Starkad I wouldnt expect such a noobish comment from somone of your experience. Firstly there are no important battles going on at all at the moment. Secondly as I said before - If these two RWs are all it takes to make Ireland join EDEN then it is pretty obvious they were already heading that way. Thirdly we have military companies in NI that were being wasted when under enemy occupation. Fourthly we have alot more reason to be pissed with ireland for taking it than they have for us taking it back. Fifthly its not as if Ireland joining EDEN would 1) be news to any of Phoenix and 2) hurt Phoenix's international standing. Should I contine?

If Ireland are to join Eden because we took our own region back, then Eden are welcome to them. Enjoy paying 200g each to MPP a country that has a damage output of about 20k (except when they spend gold in a RL-based ragespend)

The battles in the czech republic i.e. were certainly more important than Northern Ireland, thats for sure.

Wrong for two reasons: two RWs might not be a good enough reason, but taking a region that has kept generations of RL irish up the walls might be a pretty damn good reason. I am not even irish, but i can fully share their anger.
As for the heading towards EDEN before....do some research before you call my assessment of the situation "noobish". eIreland was prepared to go to open war with Norway over NI. The only reason it didnt happen was because Norway didnt seem the province important enough to draw any damage away from crucial battles and just ceided the region.

You've gotta be kidding me. Let the irish produce your weapons for heavens sake. Wages are lower in Ireland, you even make a profit keeping them up and running !!

my military ranknig is good but I could fight better for our country If U.K army help me.
James, alliances/MPPs are not triggered by war declarations, only when an original region is attacked. As NI is an original region of the UK not Ireland, attacking it wouldn't have activated any of Ireland's alliances.
Oh well if the irish are angry tough, plus at least we got 2 gold from taking it back 😃
Fail to see main reason for the Nerdrage. Yes, Northern Ireland is a senstive issue in RL, bu this is *not* RL. In this game, Northern Ireland is British, and therefore will stay that way. They will just have to deal with it.

@TheBluejay... I totally agree with you, this a game so all the shit that happens in Ireland should be left out.
I personally enjoyed getting Ireland back after all it is ours. Plus I love Guiness so it was in my personnel interest to get it back. Mind you, You can keep ypur bloody funny jiggle feet thingy to ya self. Riverdance I think its called Please SORT THAT BLOODY malarky out....

Treedom, you don't get it. It doesn't matter which region it is: if it's a UK region, we will fight to get it back. Not only that, but it's a sensitive region and in RL we have an aspiration to keep this region.
You do realise that in RL the people of the region in question want it to stay the way it is, don't you?

Funny that. I am Irish, yet you don't seem to understand or be able to share MY "anger" or desire to have Northern Ireland back (or, in RL, keep it) as part of the UK.
But, by all means, continue to expose yourself to only one side of the argument, while totally failing to understand, or even be aware of, the other side.
