[PotUS] Day One

Day 3,275, 19:16 Published in USA Poland by Wild Owl

My first Presidential run was exactly three years ago. I got 248 votes back then, a small 21.09% of the electorate, and came in third place. Fast forward to the 5th of November, 2016, and I got 229 votes, a staggering 57.25% of the total votes cast.

You'll hear it in every single game-related conversation: eRepublik is losing its gamer-base and is slowly but surely dying. However, that doesn't mean that we, as gamers, have to give up hope and simply stop trying to make this more enjoyable for us. You can be assured that as President, I will work hard and try my best to provide the best possible gaming experience to all eAmericans and our allies.

While the first day of a Presidential term is considered fairly boring, and not a lot is supposed to happen on it, we've been fairly busy. Secretary of State Kody5 published an excellent WHPR (I love the eagle graphics in particular) that can be viewed here. Chief of Staff, Fingerguns, has also been working hard, and has published a Cabinet Article, that can be seen here. We've had some quality internal discussions on Discord, which honestly isn't a bad platform and is far more user friendly than IRC ever was. The Department of State has also been working hard, and watch this space, they'll have a couple of updates before the week is over. The Indonesian NE was passed by Congress, and we look forward to getting some True Patriot medals and engaging them in war soon. Unfortunately, the Secretary of Citizen Affairs, WhydoIbother, had to quit due to unforeseen circumstances, but the transition so far has been smooth, and both Cubby and FG are working together to share the workload until we find a permanent replacement for that particular department.

While the campaign was tough, and some of it was not too pleasant, I look forward to serving all of you in the coming month. I hope that we all work together to have a memorable November for eUSA.

Thanks,
Wild Owl
