We Need to Change
In my last article I discussed how the eUSA is caught in an endless cycle of recriminations and political payback. It continues. I didn't expect for it to stop given that there are years and years of political backbiting, retribution, and bad blood. I have always tried to be the conscience of the eUSA and what is currently occurring really bothers me.
I would like to do my part to making things better around here. In furtherance of this goal, I have joined the Party 100 (AKD the old United Independent Party or UIP for you old timers out there) and am running for party president. If you would like to join me in this noble cause please feel free to join me in the party HERE) and vote for me for party president on the 15th. Consider this my party manifesto and campaign announcement. This will be a party of national unity, practicality, civility, and government activism. In short, it is a mechanism for moving willing citizens from two-click status to becoming more active to full participation in all aspects of the game.
Initial Goals
1. Branding. The party name will be E Pluribus Unum, latin for "from many, one." This name reflects the goal - a party of national unity.
2. Top 5 status. The party must have an influence over Congressional elections to be effective and push our ideas to the forefront of eUSA society.
3. An open, democratic, participatory structure. Party organization will be open and honest. Congressional slates will be chose by party poll, if necessary. Discussions for adding to or amending the party platform will occur on a regular monthly basis just after the party president elections.
Party Philosophy
1. Practicality. Policies shall be inclusive and even attempt to include those in opposition to our goals. Policies shall focus on the achievable and effective, both in-game and in meta. If a citizen is supportive of eUSA in-game, fights for the eUSA, then our party will support you whether you're a member or not.
2. Civility. Being that this shall be a party of national unity, we will focus on the POSITIVE contributions that citizens and members make in the eUSA. Party members will not engage in silly, pointless insulting arguments or trolling. Yes, I understand that for many of you this is enjoyable. For many more, however, it is not, and it does have a long-term impact on retention.
3. Government Activism. The party will support and promote policies and functions that improve the daily life of the citizens of the eUSA. The party will also support educational functions to make the game more easily understandable for all levels of player participation with the goal of making it easier for players to move from casual two-clicking to becoming more involved without confusion, challenge, or resistance.
The Only Way to Win
As banal and insulting as it sounds, the only way to win is to not play at all. Don't play their game. Commit yourself to a different game. A game that includes collaboration, support, camaraderie. A game where E Pluribus Unum is the motto, where E Pluribus Unum is the goal. From One, Many.
You're a part of that goal. A part of that ideal. We all are. But only if we don't focus on what could divide us.

As I told you before, I dont see how a new 6th party will help, but I wish you success.
The change would be easier by joining a T5 and exerting your awesomeness there, as there are not enough active people to bring a new 6th party into the T5.

no, he's right in making a 6th party. Most top 5 are very stuck in their ways and won't change

WTP is ripe for the taking, though. In fact, two of their leaders have left to join EPU. Wouldn't it have been better to run for PP there and campaign on the fact that you are going to change the party?
That's what I did with the Libs wayyyy back when. It wasn't a PTO... I actively told people my plans to change it. In fact, most of the Lib leadership (that was left) supported me.
I'm sure something like this could happen in a t5 or a higher ranked t6 (like WTP).
That's only my opinion, though. I still wish nothing but success to this new party and I love the idea.

I was thinking this is what SFP set out to be quite some time ago... it's inclusiveness is what has led to its current predicaments (again)

I'm kinda happy to see a whole new crop of sixth parties. A completely fresh start may be just what this e-country needs.
Know that there should always be a place for a player with your level of writing acumen.

I would be more interested to know what u want to achieve once ur party is up and running.Keeping the meta the way it runs right now, staying in our curent alliance ....etc.
Those decisions will have a greater impact than just a statement of intent

What the heck. I'm only an old 2 clicker, but I vote. I'm in. The old way of doing things sure isn't working. Can't say the new way will either...but can't be much worse. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
