When the average eRepublikan thinks of the world alliances, he first thinks Phoenix and EDEN. Some might remember Brolliance, although there will be people who'll just call that an extension of EDEN. Probably there will be someone who'll think of Entente, but even this person would have to ask the question of whether it still exists. And then there is Sol, the educated man would say. But this man would be wrong.

The Asia-Pacific region alliance which was known by many for its global training wars is, in fact, no more. Four of its seven members (Israel, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand), along with the Central European countries of Austria, Belgium and Czech Republic, have now formed the Order of Nations of eRepublik (ONE).

"Sol actually disbanded several months ago," said the incumbent Commander of ONE, Rangeley. "While there's certainly some overlap in ideals, and in some of the nations who are members, Sol was much more Asia oriented, in the way the Entente is very much Europe oriented. ONE tries to bridge the gap between both regions, as well as others in the world, with the idea that we can better face the challenges ahead by truly pooling our resources and cooperating in the struggle to maintain our sovereignty."

"When the same problems are happening all over the world, it's to our benefit to work together, and not be divided. I think ONE has a much more holistic approach - which again isn't limited just to member nations. We have worked very closely with non-members, both those in need of help, and those willing to help." When asked about the member countries, Rangeley sai😛 "They are the only official members as of now, yes, but there are more who are in consideration, and more who have expressed some interest. Further, we don't work in an isolated manner - we've cooperated closely with other nations in operations, both military and counter-TO, who share our goal of defending the sovereignty of the effected nations."

"Singapore was one of the founding members of ONE. Our last president, Tommy Aquinas, played a big role in setting up ONE. As such, it was only natural that we join," said the current President of Singapore and Treasurer of ONE, iLord Solomon. "Singapore is a neutral nation, so we don't want to get caught up in the PHX/EDEN conflict," said the president when asked about joining the larger alliances. "It may not necessarily protect from an attack, but it's nice to know that we will have allies to come to our aid if necessary."

The MoFA of Israel, Perfect.Knight, claims that Israel joined ONE because its the former SOL. Small, defensive, not threatening to anyone. "We don't want to become a target of anyone in the bigger alliances, so we gathered up with other nations in a similar situation. We try to do our own thing. That's all."

"We lack the people, the activity, and the resources to become major. What eIsrael wants from ONE is some relation to global events, some place in the eWorld and a set of friends. We have good friends from EDEN. Countries like Croatia and Greece are like brothers to us. Even our long time enemy from Phoenix has come to realization that war is not the key for this region to be and I am happy to say I am deeply touched by the level of their dedication to a peace process in the region between eIsrael and eTurkey. So we have no affiliation to any major alliance."

"Normally yes, we would fight against Phoenix, but that doesn't put us in the haters circle. It's just like when you have a friend who enters a fight you help him. Even if you know the other guy. You help your friend because that's what friends are for. You don't hate the other guy. His conflict is with your friend, not you. We would defend any attacks on the original regions of countries that are close to us and never support military invasion on ones original region."

Although mentioned as a member in the ONE's Wiki page, Czech Republic is still in the process of becoming one, the President Mr.Pollo said. "We are studying the idea of joining, but we need to know what our economic situation is. Rangeley contacted me for this, but it finally will be Feff who will decide this, because he is our MoD."

The MoFA of Thailand, Albert Neurath, sai😛 "Thailand joined ONE through the unilateral decision of a PTO-er President. We decided to remain in the alliance after we got rid of him, since it seemed like it would have a lot of promise."

As for the leaders of Austria, Belgium and Malaysia - they didn't respond either to my introductory message or to my first question. I didn't bother to ask again because I think I've gathered enough interesting information for one article (no pun intended, hurr durr).

The Commander of ONE wants a different approach in the future. "Well I think the big mistake of many previous attempts was they tried too hard to be that "third alliance" and not enough on actually helping the nations who were members. There is already some great work that has been done in several nations - bringing in experienced players from elsewhere, to help provide organization, strategy, and useful tactics that can help in battles and ATO's. Additionally, by pooling resources, we can give nations connections to others who can help, that they might not have otherwise. This is a very rewarding endeavor, and it has been enjoyable to try and make a difference."

"Yes, we held nominations for people who would hold the offices on an interim basis before the first "real elections" for full terms, and I ran unopposed," said Rangeley when asked about the Commander election. The next one will be held on 9th September and they're held bi-monthly. There is also a limit of one consecutive term.
