avendo già preannunciato la mia fatidica intenzione di "darmi la zappa sui piedi" già dal secondo numero de L'Avanguardia, nei commenti della precedente edizione (ndr: precisamente rivolto a Kiya Akhet), sono qui per tener fede alle mie stesse parole.

Che l'umano sia una bestia da compagnia è cosa risaputa.
Dopotutto è cosa più o meno comune al resto del mondo animale, anche se nei tratti distintivi della nostra specie la cosa si fa quantomeno marcata.
D'altronde, cosa possiede effettivamente "in più" l'ominide, che lo contraddistingue oltre al citato senso comunitario innato?

Probabilmente il cervello più sviluppato, il pollice opponibile, un più marcato istinto di sopravvivenza e la capacità fisica di veicolare concetti in modi più articolati e complessi tramite una vasta gamma di suoni difficilmente modulabili dalle corde vocali della maggior parte degli altri animali.
Precisando tuttavia che lo spettro in frequenza della nostra stessa voce non possiede componenti molto significative alle pulsazioni più elevate, tratto invece accentuato in una moltitudine di esseri marini.

Per il resto, non differiamo molto dal rimanente mondo animale.
Instinto di nidificazione, istinto paterno e materno, istinto predatorio, istinto riproduttivo.
La nostra attitudine al comando poi, è semplicemente il concetto di esemplare alpha in una qualsiasi congregazione animale.

Quindi un umano in evidenti difficoltà dovute ai più disparati motivi (ndr: non sempre, anzi quasi mai, motivati), come può effettivamente impiegare il suo più spiccato spirito comunitario?
Si rivolge ad un altro esemplare che possiede le caratteristiche atte a risolvere i travagli in questione, possibilmente un conoscente, o qualcuno di cui si fida.

Ed eccomi, intento ad espletare questa funzione tipica della nostra specie.

Come forse ben saprete, il sottoscritto Giovanni Marinelli, ha patito nell'ultima settimana il perpetrarsi di un furto ai suoi danni.
L'innominabile, introdottosi in maniera del tutto ineducata nel mio account dopo aver rubato la password (identica a quella usata sul forum di Aquila et Gladius, e a cui lui aveva accesso in quanto admin, ma la storia della distruzione del detto forum è ben altra storia, ben più triste), facendomi sparire ben 172 GOLD, 512 KRW, 253 ITL e la mia casa Q5.

I soldi furono donati a tale domasw, che li spese per farsi una bella casa (ndr: istinto di nidificazione), e promise di restituirmeli presto.
Così fece, ma il valore totale al cambio era di 7.2 GOLD, e lui me ne diede 3. Glielo feci notare ma al contempo asserendo che non doveva preoccuparsi, mi bastavano quei 3 GOLD, dai quali nacque L'Avanguardia.

La casa entrò in possesso di tale Ralz che gentilmente me la restituì dopo avergli esplicato la mia peculiare situazione.

Ma per i 172 GOLD di cui non vi era traccia, cosa fare esattamente?
Esercita lo spirito comunitario più sviluppato della tua specie, Giovanni.

Volevo chiamare i Ghostbusters.
Sapevo che potevo contare solamente su di loro.
Sapevo che nessuno a parte loro mi avrebbe ascoltato.
Sapevo che avrebbero fatto prezzi modici.
Sapevo che sarebbero venuti, lo avrebbero visto, e lo avrebbero preso a calci in culo.
Sapevo che loro mi avrebbero creduto.

Alzai la cornetta, probabilmente con una espressione da vacca indù che serenamente aspetta di essere mandata al macello con pia rassegnazione.
Mi aspettavo la squillante voce di Janine Melnitz dall'altra parte del ricevitore. Ma così non fu.

(ndr: sta per seguire il dibattito sul mio ticket sottoposto agli admin, in versione integrale e non tradotta, in quanto un vecchio adagio oggettivista affermava che "anche il solo tradurre una affermazione è una viziatura soggettiva della stessa, che ne muta il significato fino a renderlo di parte" ma se qualcuno desiderasse la versione italiana, posso tradurvelo senza problema alcuno)

Dear admins,

my account was hacked last night by an unknown player.
He took about 172 GOLD, 512 KRW and 253 ITL and a Q5 house from my account. Some of the stuff were donated (as we can see from the donation list) to two players, domasz and Ralz, which I suspect are not connected with the theft, having only received items randomly.

I will be resetting my password soon, but I would like everything to be restored as it was before if possible... Thank you very much for your time!

ps: I suspect that the theft was perpetrated by the player Gaio Giulio Cesare, with whom my party had heated discussion over the past days. He is responsible also for hacking Aquila et Gladius ORG, stealing it's GOLD and deleting it's newspaper.

Thank you first of all.

Secondly I'd like to say that both Ralz and domasw acknowledged that they were unaware of the theft and they were just victims of the thief's donation.
Ralz gave me my Q5 house and food back, while domasw already spent the money to buy a house for himself.

So it appears I now miss only about 172 GOLD, 512 KRW and 253 ITL. I have changed my password both here and on the account e-mail, so I guess I should be safe from another hacking.

1. Do you now have control of your account? If so, have you since protected your account by changing to a new stronger password?
2. When was the last date and time you logged into your account before this happened?
3. Did anyone else have access to your account?
4. Have you given your username and password on any other website?
5. What was taken?
6. Do you know who took your items?

Hello there, thanks for the kind reply. I will now answer all of your questions at my best, if you have any doubts or futher questions, please ask away and I will answer.

1. Yes, I do have full control of my account right now. Changed to a new stronger password yesterday, as well as changing the password to the e-mail on which this profile is registered to be on the safe side.
2. I am going by memory on the time and date, but I'd say on the 9th of January around 20 o'clock (GMT+1 as I'm Italian RL), that should be my last log-in before the theft.
3. No, I am the only one having access to this account. So it was someone lacking my authorization, logging in.
4. No, I have not publicly given my account name or password on another website, though I used the same password of the game as password to an off-site eRepublik forum of the party Aquila et Gladius (to limit the number of different passwords I have to be quicker, I know I was stupid in doing so...).
I was forum admin, and the second forum admin went crazy, deleting the forum and stealing passwords from it's members. So I might not be the only one suffering this theft.
5. A total of about 172 GOLD was taken from my account (no record on my donation list about them), 512 KRW and 253 ITL (given to player domasw who was unaware of everything, who spent them to buy himself a house), a Q5 house and some food (donated to player Ralz, who gave them back to me after hearing of my account hacking).
So I only miss 172 GOLD, 512 KRW and 253 ITL.
6. I have strong suspects it was player Gaio Giulio Cesare (http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1705860).

Non intendo fare ulteriori commenti, se non la triste constatazione che se avessi omesso il fatto di aver usato la password del mio account come password del forum di Aquila et Gladius, l'indagine sarebbe andata avanti e probabilmente si sarebbe fatta giustizia nei miei confronti.
